Hi,
I have recently upgraded to Google Earth 4.3 (beta), but now GOOPS does not work anymore. When I launch GOOPS, google earth opens up, but the routes are not being updated anymore. Is the latest version of GOOPS compatible with google earth 4.3 beta?
Thanks

Checksum,
The latest version of GooPs is compatible with the latest Google Earth 4.3 beta. Make sure "Autostart Google Earth" is checked in the GooPs options window. Delete any "GooPsServers" links from the Google Earth "Places" or "Temporary Places". Press the "Pause" then "Continue" buttons on the GooPs main window.

Gulf of Guinea??
Hi,
I'm a new user of Goops Pro. Garmin 20x>>gpsgate>>>goopsPro>>>Google Earth, current version, all on Fujitsu u810. Working perfectly for two entire days of driving, all of a sudden, goops is telling google earth that I'm in the middle of the Gulf of Guinea, off the coast of Africa (I'm in NJ, actually...) reinstalled GE just for kicks. It isn't the gps data stream, I don't think. Other apps when tested on the Virtual Com4 give accurate position. If I use EarthBridge instead of goops, it also gives correct positioning in GE. Any idea what could have happened here?
Thanks.
EDIT: I figured out that it was just loading the default coords (0,0). In any case, removal all traces of goops, including folders & registry entries, then reinstalling has brought it back to life. Hope this might help anyone else.

Will donate :-)
Edit: No donation. I bought Goops plus instead. But being version 2.3 I will not install it as my ftp-problem then will come back. No?

Hi David
Minor hickup
On
http://maps.google.com/maps?&q=http:...lle4/Mulle.TXT
I get
Rad 32: <href> innehåller syntaxfel
Rad 358: <href> innehåller syntaxfel
(running 2.4 beta. I do not update that file anymore so you can still see the fault)
I also see that I only get the end of the trip. Why is this?
Is version 2.4 about to be released, and will my 2.3 code work on that version too?
BR, B-O

When running Goops and Mologogo Solo I can only get the goops server to update at 60 seconds? Is there a way to increase the Goops server to match the 15s update rate of my Mologogo i415? I can change the update rate to 20 or 15 but after I save and re enter the options its back to 60 s?

Hey B-O,
I'm not able to see the file from the URL in your post.
Your 2.3 license key will work with 2.4.
I'm not sure why you are only seeing the end of the trip. You can try clearing the track with the "Clear" button on the main window. That will clear all of your track data but will re-initialize everything.
2.4 will be released in early fall.

You could update the rate value in the registry - HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/GooPs/moloFreq. However, it will be set back to 60 if you open the External Server Setup window and press the OK button. I can lower the minimum in the next version.
Go to the start menu->Run...
type "regedit"
Go to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/GooPs/moloFreq
right click on the key and select "Modify..."
Enter 15
Press OK.

I'm not sure what could have happened. Sounds like a GooPs bug. Let me know if it happens again.

Thanks for your reply David.
The link is this, sorry.
I have tried clear, but I still get just the end of the trip and two timestamps. Is this a licens issue maybe?

AirLink and GooPs
Has anyone tried to get the GPS data stream from an AirLink PinPoint modem into GooPs?
I manage about 20 devices remotely and would love to be able to track them in real time using GooPs. They're all accessible via a private IP address on my server.
Is there a specific TCP or UDP port that GooPs is listening on for the AVL data?
Thanks,
Todd

Todd,
GooPs listens on port 51234 for NMEA data. See the FAQ at http://goopstechnologies.com/faq.htm...application_to
How do I interface my application to GooPs?
GooPs can receive data from other applications via a TCP/IP socket. GooPs listens on port 51234 for messages containing NMEA data. If the message is a raw NMEA sentence GooPs will append it to the local vehicle's data. If the NMEA string is prepended with an ID and host name. GooPs will treat it
as a remote vehicle. GooPs will automatically add any remote vehicle that hasn't already been manually added.
The format is:
<id>@<host>:<nmea sentence>
Example:
joe@joescar:$GPRMC,130043,A,3731.5300,N,12221.2400 ,W,1.0,0.0,082507,0.0,E,A*01
- here is no requirement on the id and host names, they are only used to identify the vehicle in the user interface.
- The socket must be closed and reopened for each message.
- A message can contain multiple NMEA sentences separated by an ascii carriage return/line feed (cr/lf)
- You can save bandwidth by only sending GPRMC, GPGGA, and GPVTG sentences. All others are ignored.
- Unless you need altitude data you can just send $GPRMC sentences.
- Currently only status, timestamp, latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, and heading fields are used)
