In the meantime I'll post a new version with this fix probably tomorrow.
Thanks again!
That is very odd! I assume that you discarded the negative heading values because the arrow did not turn at all. I have been using 1.6 for a day and it works flawlessly!!! I don't know why but it don't look like a coincidence. My GPS should output standard NMEA 2.3 sentences.

Off topic: How the hell did the word "mouse" get stuck together with GPS??? It ****es me off! A GPS RECIEVER is nothing like a mouse. For a long time they came with PS/2 connectors and a custom PS/2-to-Serial cable. That really confused a lot of people who thought they should be able to run their GPS "mouse" off the PS/2 mouse port without needing the adapter cable (LOL).

It all makes sense now. The heading value in the nmea sentence is just an offset from zero degrees, so it can be positive or negative. When I put in the sanity check (in version 1.7) I assumed it had to be positive so I threw out any sentences with negative heading values, which made the updates stop completely. When I made the "fix" in 1.7.3 I just kept the current heading value instead of throwing out the sentence completely, making the cursor not rotate with the heading changes.

GooPs V1.7.4 Released - A bug fix and Autostart change
1.7.4 – 3/24/06
- Fixed heading problem (seen with ublox gps) – negative heading values are now passed through to GE.
- “Autostart Google Earth” no longer starts Google Earth on program startup unless GPS “AutoConnect” is selected and GooPs is not in demo mode.

Thanks you!

GooPs V1.7.5 Released - Cursor/track improvements
1.7.5 – 4/5/06
- Cursor now changes size when zooming in and out, even when there are no position updates.
- Saved cursor and track are now visible on program startup (instead of after first GPS update).

Love your work mate keep it up
A small thing I thought of though not overly important, can you make an option to enlarge the speed readout at all? Or/and reposition it? That way you can see the speed a lot better
Thanks

Thanks yorky,
I appreciate your feedback. You can change the font/size of the speed readout in Google Earth Tools->Options->View->Fonts and Labels/Icon size.
I've toyed with the idea of making the speed an image overlay so it could be in the corner/somewhere out of the way.

I don't think the speed readout shows when you're using a bitmap image for the cursor. Try turning autoview off.

Thanks David I'll try that, and yes there is a speed readout (hence why I asked for an option to change to KM/H which is working great ).
