Nice! Now how do I make the white part transparent?
(It is automatically when loaded through nemaGE or ResHacked into iGuidance. If you have to do it manually though, make the transparent color Fuscia or something, not white.)

Then next time when I'm back in the car, I don't need Internet connectivity again for GooPS to work.
You can do this with GooPs now.
You can save the track in KML now with Google Earth File->Save As (but you have to either exit GooPs or turn off the GooPsServer network link refresh first). You can then use the playback/flying tour feature in Google Earth to fly your track. Just select GooPsServer->Me->Track in the places pane and press the play track button (looks like a vcr play button).
Please be aware that if you exit GooPs you will lose all of your track data. I plan on making GooPs save the track data between sessions in a future release.

Looks good!
I'm not sure how nmeaGE is doing it, from what I saw in the KML spec it was done by making the part you want transparent a certain color in the bitmap itself - but I didn't look too closely. I may need to set some parameter in the KML - I'll check into it.

So what I shoud do is
1. Run GooPS. Connect to GPS receiver. Click on Add/Update to bring up GE.
2. Let them run. I won't see anything in GE now since I'm not connected.
3. When I get home, close GooPS. Then in GE, choose Save As to save the KML track.
4. Replay the track now that I have Internet connection. GE builds cache.
Next time, repeat #1. GE should show images now since it has built the cache.
Is that it? Thanks.

That's it, You may need to adjust the Google Earth "Driving Directions Tour Options" to get it to cache the detail level that you want. Look in Tools->Options->Control->Advanced->Driving Directions Tour Options. There you can adjust the speed, range, and tilt.

It doesn't look like the PNGs are displaying properly. There's no alpha transparency.
Can you enable it, David?

GooPs V1.4 Released:
1.4 - 2/9/06
· Added a Pause/Continue feature (stops updates to Google Earth so you can save tracks as kml)
· Reworked tracking interface to hopefully be more clear.

I added a Pause feature so you don't have to exit GooPs or Edit the GooPsServers Network Link to save your track to KML. Just press "Pause" on the GooPs main window, save your track in GE, then press Continue.

AutoZoom is awesome!! Can't wait to try it out.
david, could you also add key shortcuts so people (like me) can use Girder and a remote control?

b8bboi, david: Since it uses Google Earth's controls, not too many hot-keys are necessary, but you could add one for the new Pause feature I guess.
david: You are doing awesome work man! I will try out auto-zoom. I guess we do need hot-keys for auto-center, auto-heading, and auto-zoom on/off (so I can have SKINbedder control that).
It would also be cool if you could adjust the auto-zoom configuration some how (multiple "speed=zoom_level" points in an INI file or something).
