Can the remote wire running from the module be hooked up to the PAC AAI-NIS2's remote wire? Click here for more info on the AII-NIS2. It has a negative remote wire and I don't really know if thats different from the remote wire on this module. Or could I just tie into the remote running to my amplifier or deck? Please help!

It should work just as well using a hub, yes.
BTW, W3bm4st3r you can count me as one more satisfied customer. It works great, and the price is right.
I have one question: does anyone know how much current or power the USB connection draws? I'm trying to figure out if I am in any danger of overtaxing my laptop's USB ports from all of the stuff I have hanging off of them.

Possible issue?
Webmaster - I have one of your devices, probably 15-18 months old if I recall.
I've got an issue that is either by design and I've never noticed, or something went wrong. I'm not an EE to be able to look at the circuit and see if it is by design.
If I manually shutdown/hibernate my laptop and then turn the power off, your module is sending the momentary pulse to the switch turning the laptop back on.
In other words, the momentary pulse is sent on any transition of ignition voltage (except when the USB has power)
So is that working as designed or did something go bad or I do something?

I'm not w3bm4st3r, but I did just build a working version of the module, so I suppose that qualifies me.
First off, it's definitely not by design. When the 12v powers off, it should open the 12v relay, which would leave no way to complete the circuit except by the remote switch.
If it's sending the pulse when you kill the power, it sounds like either the relay is doing some weird "flapping" and not opening properly, or the second terminal is shorted into the circuit somehow.
One other thing I'd consider is just the wiring of your vehicle. Maybe there's some brief 12v surge in transitioning to off from ACC? Weirder things have happened.

I purchased this module from w3bm4st3r and it works perfectly. Although I have never soldered before, and it took me several attempts and two burns, I got it done. It works great. I tried using the shutdown software that he recomends but it doesn't work on my pc. I run a cut down version of xp called tinyxp. It's small, boots quickly, and shuts down in about two seconds. But I think it must be missing a lot of ms stuff because some software I cant get working.

Hi W3bmast3r, I cant check out my item on your webshop, which probably has got something to do with the fact that it has to be send to the Netherlands.
I bought 1 from you before so I know you ship outside the US. Can you look into this or PM me on how to make my payment outside your webshop?

I'm buying one of these. I was going to use a RF momentary robot switch, but the auto-turn-on feature is much too convenient. Can anyone post pics on the remote power on/off switch installation? I was thinking of mounting it in one of the switch blanks in my dash board, but I guess I would need to buy a factory dash momentary switch for my 06 Odyssey. Otherwise, I guess I could drill a little hole in the middle of the existing blank and install the supplied button. I would like it to look as OEM as possible.

So Supposing one wanted power the momentary switch using the 5V relay through a USB port, could i just put that relay inplace of the 12 volt one? Here is what im thinking, I have made one of these to power up the laptop and it works flawlessly, Thank you webmaster. But i want to make one for my monitor, but i don't want all the booting junk to show, so i want it powered when the USB is powered, usually when windows is logged on and hopefuuly by then, RR will have been initialized. I am not technical, and haven't used ohms law since highschool so any help s appreciated.

they recieve 5v upon power applied to computer so it would'nt work.
similar problem:
I keep my PC in standby so the usb protect method is no good.. i was thinking on tapping a VGA pin 9 (suppose to be 5v on newer d-sub) so when computer comes out of standby it will trigger N.C. relay to stop from going into standy once on..anyone done this or other solutions besides the usb protect option?

My laptop is a Toshiba Satelite A105. Can you build the gadget for this laptop? Also what is the pricing on it?

Could someone post up a video of the device in action in different scenarios, such as with it turning on the computer, turning off the computer, key on then off quickly, key off then key on quickly. thanks.

I'm interested in picking one of these up for my laptop in my Jeep liberty. I have a question about the ACC/RUN wire that I need to connect the black/red wire to.
I have a 2002 Jeep liberty, so I just want to verify that the black/white ACC switch as seen on this wiring diagram:
http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...s.asp~TID~1573
Furthermore, if I purchase a Carnetix CNX-P2140, will it be able power the laptop on/off automatically, or will I still need this device?
