Need Testers for Mappoint embedded Navigation System

Hi,
I have just finished testing Alpha version of Voice guided Navigation system. I need some testers for testing the alpha version. I don't want to release till some of you have tested it and given a green signal. As you must be aware that Mappoint does not support turn-by-turn direction by default I have found a work around and seems that it works most of the time, expect when the turns are very closeby its not very accurate. Also its not easy to find wheter you made the turn or not. Here is the list of main feature it supports as of now.

1) auto zoom in at higher speeds.
2) Voice guidance for the next turn when you are near the turn , the distance depends on your speed. Also if you are using winAmp it will pause it for the guidance and resume again later
3) Configurable Autorouting feature
4) Voice commands support:
"Computer" to get into the listening mode
and the commands are
a) Zoom in
b) zoom out
c) Guidance off
d) guidance on
e) When is the next turn
f) Reroute
eg "Computer Guidance off" will switch off the voice guidance
5) Supports skin

Presently compiled and tested in W2K
For testing you will require the following
OS: win2k/xp with speech engine installed (haven't tested on win98 so not sure)
Harware : GPS mouse and of couse the carPC
software: Mappoint 2002

Also you will need either a keyboard or OSK to enter the route.

You can now download it from http://212.19.79.238/~satish/
ThanX to Skippy76

Warning: Its a alpha version so expect a lot of bugs

Regards
Satish

This works great, however is the virtual keyboard there supposed to work with the application? The keboard thing works on my laptop but when I copied it to the car comp it just stayed minimized in the start bar, nothing happened when I clicked it. Anyway, awesome job man!

the virtual keyboard is like an osk and will work with any appilcation . Please check the kB.ini and change KeyBD=0,0 then the keyboard should be on the left top when u click the icon.

Awesome. How is the onscreen visual alerts comming. I don't have any Software porgramming skils but tons of graphic skills. Let me know if I can Help.

I PM Coyote (mediacar) asking him to contact you to get this integrated with MediaCar. Thanks for the tip about the INI file and automatic Re Routing

Cheers

I ran out to the car just now, tried that, but still didn't see it. After I raised the resolution and brought it back down to 800x600 it showed up. When I tried to use it, it just beeped at me and wouldn't input anything. It's kind of strange it works fine on my laptop.

another thing, what is the syntax used to enter your home address in the .ini file? comma seperated? I'm assuming thats the little button with the road and the box?
