Overland Navigator

My company, Spatial Minds, has just released version 2.0 of Overland Navigator.

Overland Navigator is touchscreen and keyboard control friendly Topographic GPS Mapping Software for Windows. It mosaics detailed USGS Topographic quads and displays them as a single seamless map. If you have a GPS plugged in to your computer it will show your current location, position the map at your location, record a track log of where you went, and enable you to mark any points of interest you observe.

Edit: Mods - I removed all hyperlinks back to our website. If this is an unacceptable post, please let me know. I'm only posting because it seems to be very relevant to Jeep/Toyota/Land Rover or other offroaders who have carputers.

I'm really interested in your software. It looks ideal for embedding in RR.

But I see a show stopper for me: I'm not in the U.S.

Are you planning on adding support for user supplied maps? I've got all the eTopo maps from the SK/MB border to NF within Canada.

Any plan for a street database overlay? I'm not interested in turn-by-turn per se but when in an unknown town the topo maps by themselves leave a little to be desired.

Looks cool, ideal streamlined interface for in the Jeep.

Yes on both counts, though not in the short term. We'll be adding support for Canadian Topos as Map-Packs too.

Some of our customers run Road Runner with both iGuidance and Overland Navigator. Switching between the two depending on whether they are on or off road.

That's exactly what I have in mind as a fall back.

I've been looking at Fugawi with the streets overlay but it really isn't a touch screen friendly interface - at least from what I can see from their web site.
