If someone were to get something like this, what other component or modification would be necessary to prevent the 'thump' when powering on the amp. This board does have the ability to perform more fine tuned programming via USB..maybe something can be tweaked that way?

i went ahead and placed an order for this device from mini-box.
to my surprise i recieved an email telling me they cant verify the adress after the transaction went through with paypal. after i called them they said it is being shipped from brazil and they requested that i email them a copy of my credit card....i canceled the order... sounds very shady to me

Yeah...mini-box is legit but it sounds like someone is trying to spam with intent to steal your ID. No legitimate business or bank will ever ask for your information online like that, especially via email. Shady indeed.

That is totally fishy! I demand an explanation from the vender!

i would too like an explanation from them...
here is part of the email that was sent to me:

"Dear Customer,

As we were processing your order, we ran into a small problem with your credit card. The shipping/billing address verification returned a negative result. Since the credit card company requests that we ship only to verified addresses, please take a moment to verify the address one more time.

Please scan us/email a copy of your credit card, in order to speed up the authentication of your credit card...."

piotr is an unknown quantity at this point
Sounds like a typical spam, is there anything with reference to mini-box or is it vague? It'd be interesting to see the email headers to see where it's coming from (I work for a large anti-spam company).

-----

FWIW: I purchased this device from Mini-Box/iTuner. They're relatively close to where I live so if I had any trouble I'd just head to their office.

Anyway, the device is nice but it is missing documentation. So far there's nothing to show you how to set voltages via the USB connection, there's no documentation for programming the device and no driver support. I fear that this device is missing many things and was brought in a little early. It'd be really nice for it to output 19VDC for my Zotac IONITX-A-U but that is only settable via USB. You're stuck with 5,6,9,12,13.5,18 & 24 VDC via the jumpers.

Curiosity will become famous soon enough
There is software for it, but it's beta so you have to ask. It looks pretty much done though.

first of all i think you should read through the forum first, usually all questions have already been asked and answered.
2nd. i do recommend going with the zotac a-u, that the board i went with.
check out my review of this PSU with the zotac A-U board in the review palace.
