If I may add a coment: Linux isn't a unix-like system, but it's unix-BASED. Just like OSx is unix-based, but NOT unix-like....

To my opinion that's a difference.

Actually, the article is right. Linux is most definitely UNIX like. It’s not UNIX based like Mac OS (which is based on BSD Unix), it was initially a clone of the minix operating system.

If you want to know more, check out the Wikipedia article, which is incidentally where this article came from.
