yes without making it overly complex, this as shown will draw about 30ma at most when activated (15ma for the relay and another 15 at crazy best for the rest of the circuit) i figure that is negligible even on dead car batteries, its the same as two LED light bulbs....

By load dump I mean the voltage spike that occurs when certain components turn off. In a car when the starter is disengaged the 10A+ that it was drawing dumps into the system causing a voltage spike...in some cars this can be up to 80v.

well i think i will add another larger capacitor to the power legs on both the comparator and the timer. but other then that, most of these components are rated for 50v or more... and its all current limited so i dont see it being a problem.

i will find that out though, thats for sure. my parts should be here friday... also, the power filter coil i will be adding also has capacitance along with the coil itself.

that sucks about the ip address. logmein wouldnt have that problem... and its actually rare to have a pc change IP addresses, even if its a dynamic IP most providers like to leave them the same for as long as the modem is connected. good thing for you is the phone stays on at all times anyway

edit- wow it does work well. little slow over edge revA, but it works. im trying to see how it does over local wifi now...

Just to clarify, when I say it changes ip just like a pc I meant say you're using a router, the PCs local ip would change and if there there was no modem in between the connection the same thing would happen on the wan side. Similarly, since no modem between phone and the internet the changing ip is expected. The ip changing is not a big thing for me as the the phone is always on (as you mentioned). I guess I could go crazy again looking for a dynamic ip type service/software simlar to dyndns etc but I'll leave that for another day.

So i've finally accomplished everything. I'm attaching all files I used. Here's a quick guide...

On the phone (which you want to log into):
1. Install the VNC server - you may need to use mymobiler to type the password in the config
2. Install the the dns program - either using a dyndns or a noip account

Now to login using another phone use the PPC VNC viewer and to login from a PC use the VNC Viewer for PC - using your name friendly domain name eg. mywmphone.no-ip.org

Hope this saves someone time in the future.
