How to turn CF to not removable (local drive) device ?

Hi all !
It is maybe a hardware question, but it concerns the OS i'm using it, so thats why i'm posting it here...

I'm using a CF Lexar x300 UDMA 8Gb wit a CF to IDE converter. Everything goes well exept that Windows XP Home (SP2) consider it as a "removable device".
I've readed some posts from people saing that maybe some kind of drivers or software may do that, but i can't manage to find out. I've phoned Lexar but they tell me that they don't provide software in that way. So maybe using software from other cards is working on Lexar's ?
Did somebody already tried ?
