MS no longer support XP as of june-2008 is that true?

i heard that MS no longer support xp in june 2008 or it's just a rummor correct me if i'm wrong

100% definitely not true. They havent even officially released there SP3 for XP there's no way they'd end support of the product.

6yr old first install died 20/8/2005 as result of bad bios flash.

New system : 6x5x2" contains 1GHz C3 PCM9373, ISR based PSU, 8Gb flash DOM, 98Lite, DirectShow based frontend.
GPS : Rikaline 6010.
Display : LTM08C351 + LVDS receiver.

Ah, what you heard was OEM availability. (Direct OEM and Retail License Availability (end date)) June 30th, 2008.

Don't think that has anything to do with support as they are about to release SP3 (already in pre-release. I have it! )

Was? Still is? Hence why I'm rebuilding with the same OS.

It runs great. My original install had a 22Mb windows zip file uncompressed to ramdrive and booted from there (17 seconds from power to music).

Just rebuilding it with DirectX8 (instead of 9 - better for my video drivers) and Ogg support. In the process of stripping all the rubbish out to make it small again. All going on an 8Gb flash disk-on-module - no hard drive any more.

My setup that died in 2005 was DOS 6...!
