to edit boot.ini

open notepad
click file.. open
change the 'lookin' to c:
type at the bottom boot.ini

you need to add the switches to the end of the line which starts multi(0)disk....

Easier way to edit boot.ini :

1. Hit 'Window key' + 'R' to open up the "Run" dialog box
2. Type "msconfig" and hit 'Enter' key
3. 4th tab at top of application is boot.ini options
4. Go Nuts!

ps: in case you don't know, 'window key' is the key between 'ctrl' and 'alt' keys with the little windows logo on it

For a quick guide to update the Bootscreens using NTOSKERNEL.EXE use:

cant use msconfig toeditboot.ini inXP mate - no way i can see to do it anyway!

Why go through 11 steps, when you can do two? Add two switches to the boot.ini file, reboot. Done. Does the other method have more funcionality or something?
