Thanks everyone, but I'm still confused how to add a progress bar to my boot screen... I see progress bars on the other boot screens in the sticky, but I wasn't sure hwo to add one to mine. I have the reshacker thing, but I went about changing my boot screen with the added text to the boot.ini

THANKS!

ok i got this on my boot.ini file:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

where do i put the /bootlogo /noguiboot?

IMPORTANT QUESTION, does changing this boot screen affects the boot time on the machine? does it slow down even just a bit? thanks

Right after fastdetect. Don't forget to add a space. It does not slow it down a bit. You're just replacing one bitmap for another.

where to put boot.bmp??

I have been able to get rid of the default windows boot screen, although my original boot.ini is a little different

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn

Does anyone else have the /NoExecute=OptIn. Ive placed the /bootlogo /noguiboot directly after the /NoExecute=OptIn

When the system boots up, all i get is a blank black screen. So my question is, where do i put the boot.bmp file? Also, how do i get the progress bar onto the file? Any help would be great. Thanks

interchange the /fastdetect and the /noexecute=optin

that is how mine is.
