if your drive is not protected by EWF then it shouldn't be restoring files?

my D drive is not protected by ewf. But when I delete an mp3 the files comes back due to the recycle bin being protected. Its the same hard drive separated partition. Hope that helps

i'll have to double check. I always use small flash devices for my main drive so I always have a single partition.

if you run "ewfmgr c:" and "ewfmgr d:" what's the output? I'm assuming "d" is your secondary partition.

I have my system (EWF/HORM) working fine. I recently put it on CF and my boot times on hibernation and cold boot have increased significantly from 20 sec to 28 sec (hib) and 25 to 37 (!!!) sec on cold boot.

Could it be that I added a not EWF'd HDD to store mp3? Not probably but who knows..

Im using an 1Gb Ultra II and a IDE2CF adaptor.

tis is becouse it is a fixed drive, if you do scandisc it will be gone these files
it is becouse windows knows your file structure of your d drive, and sinds it is read-only it dos not know these files are gone when you reboot. u better use a usb disk, than you won't have this problem.
for i don't know how to fix this behavior

Disable Recycle Bin

You could try turning off the recycle bin

Right click my the recyclebin then properties select the global tab and turn off the recycle bin for all drives.

Cheers

SFiorito, Some people were having issues using the ewfmgr command to access the EWF volume.

Failed getting protected volume configuration with error 1

The latest XPe Repositories has 3 or 4 different versions of ewf.sys, ewfmgr, and ewfntldr from SP1 and SP2, FP2007. I'm not quite sure why these older revisions were not removed, but if someone ended up implementing using older revision they would come across the error.

MinLogon... No difference?

Hey guys,
has anyone else experienced no change in bootup times when switched to the minlogon? I did the change per spec and it is exactly the same. If there is something I should check, please let me know. Thanks!

SFiorito - would it be OK with you if I added your tutorial to the new FAQ system. Of course, all credit given, as with other articles.

Would this be ok with you?

Anyone make a Ghost backup of there CF drive all setup? I have a 2 gig CF and a via board that has a cf slot. It would be great if someone would make a nice backup, Maybe remove windows key to be on the up and up. Not sure what the legalities are on unkeyed windows XPE images. Just a thought. Maybe upload to torrent site.

Specialy if someone has HORM running.

I think this is not possible, as XPe builds are very specific to the hardware on the particular system it is created for, and the FBA won't work as well. Also rather than using a windows key, XPe uses a PID which must be input before the image is deployed.
