MinLogon update for easier installation...

Okay, nothing huge, but I was looking through my notes for minlogon and I realized it really isn't necessary to delete any registry values in order to use it. All that's needed is to add the Config registry value and just switch out the exe's. The advantage of this of course is that you can more easily switch between minlogon and winlogon in case you decide not to use it or need it for Windows Update or whatever else.

The only reason I originally removed all the entries is because I wanted to make sure it didn't read in those group policy settings and other values and try to run startup scripts or whatever. Based on published info from MSFT it shouldn't (since it doesn't do security), but who knows. I haven't done any performance tests to see if keeping those values slows things down or not so you may want to do that yourself.

Not to be a dick (eventhough I am), you may want to just add your updated porcedure to this thread or something like that, b/c you know someone will ask...

beleive it or not, this solved my USB enclosure problem. It now detects it every time on boot up. I don't have to unplug it and plug it back in again.
I wonder which registry entry is the one responsible for this.

I agree....it is way too hard to follow the thread that this was posted in, it was updated so many times, you cant follow a simple set of steps to make it work. Its a pain when you think you have it by the plans, and then notice 3 posts further there was an updated file. If this is close to perfected, can you write the steps in one, easy to follow set of instructions?

Just realized I misread your original post SFiorito. What do you mean by "add the config registry value"?

EDIT: Nevermind. I found it. It's really that simple? Add the one registry value? hahah. That's awesome.
