MINLOGON without ewf, easy install with files
minlogon.. without ewf.. easy install as it says..
i did this on my other pc, works great..
all the files are included
minlogon.exe
CAD_TRAP (thanks frodo)
minlogon.reg (registry entries)
with instructions.. thats about it..
sorry if this minlogon thing is getting repetitive.. i could not find how to do it without the ewf and i just wanted a more simple way to do it.. this seems simple enough right?

uhh... all you have to do is add the config reg value and copy minlogon.exe over to winlogon.exe. not too hard I think. also, you don't need to be in safe mode to do the copy over and ewf has nothing to do with minlogon. I wrote the instructions for the two of them together since both are components from XPe I found worked well on XP and were pretty important for booting from CF.

I tired as well, way too hard to follow, as the instructions seemed to change as the thread went on, as did the files needed to be downloaded. Gave up...will try your version this time.

Hi guys,
I followed SFiorito's instructions, and they worked like a charm first time, for minlogin. I missed setting the permissions line when I tried setting up EWF and blew my nLite v7 ! Still it needed some tweaks anyway !
cheers

i love these guys that are so quick to have the first post, and then post false information on top of that ... i made a thread and the same thing happened to mine, the guy didn't even read it.
it's getting redundant when every other reply is "search" or "google" or "this has been covered hundreds of times already"
yes. it probably has. this is a forum dedicated to this subject matter, that's why we are asking. if we make a thread about it, it's because we had no luck searching. we don't know the keywords like you guys that have been around since the dark ages.
lighten up guys, this is supposed to be fun!

Wrong thread or what ? Reply five days later ?
I hope it wasn't me you where after.... sure it wasn't minlogon _only_
but come on, how difficult could it be to download the package, unzip, replace winlogon.exe, import reg-file... done.

why read through a 20 page thread to figure out the quirks of their 'elegant' solution when you could check out a KISS solution developed by someone else?
just the path of least resistatance

there's no quirks man, just some people having problems with WFP. i updated my first post in the original minlogon thread a while ago to reflect the changes (i.e., only one registry value to import).

Sure, but I replied to "mattress" post that just came out of the blue and seemed irrelative to this whole thread, so I was just asking if it was my answer to where you could find minlogon that was wrong.
No 20 pages either... like I said.. Post #4, but now that syfenx's link is online again people can choose anyone they like.

minlogon
I am expermenting with minlogon with good sucess so far thanks to you guys. I would like to take it a little further and incorporate minlogon and other XPE stuff into an install CD where it is all up and running right after install is finished. I am trying to make a blazing fast windows xp and quick on startup too. I know some about doing this but would need detailed info to acomplish this. I know others would find this info to be of great use. Can anyone help?
