When XP first boots up, I am allways faced with the logon screen before windows starts up. How do I avoid this.

If you don't like minlogon you can use this simple regedit:
[CODE] start
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"DefaultUserName"="yourname"
"DefaultPassword"="yourpassword"
"AutoAdminLogon"="1"
[CODE] end

..plug ur name and pass.(must match ur current one), save as whatevvaname.reg and doubleclick it...

if u wanna disable the autologin just make a new file for doubleclick with the value "AutoAdminLogon"="0"

that will give u just a nice xp background and ur in..

I bet you have the .NET framework installed. The cleanest way is to delete a HIDDEN user account: ASP.NET for your Accounts. If you have more than one account windows show up the winlogon screen to select the user. Now siince it is hidden you cannot see it. Delete it and you will boot directly into windows all the time!

Try this:

Config panel - Display settings.
Screensaver tab.
Power.
Advanced tab.
deselect: Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby (/ hibernation)
