Anyone using a Wireless Bridge?

I have a Belkin USB 54g and I am really not happy with it. I hate that it installs its cr@ppy software that you have to use inorder to use the card, even with 3rd party software. I happen to have a access point laying around that has the ability to go into bridge mode, and also has a range of supposedly a mile with clear line of sight http://www.radiolabs.com/products/wi...cess-point.php. So I think this would be good for the car. Now this bridge mode does mean ethernet to wireless, correct? Also has anyone else used this method to get wi-fi in their car? I do have a Sprint card, but i want to be able to connect to my home network when need be.

Not exactly the same, but i have a wireless repeater, running in WDS mode in a bedroom near my car that lets me connect from the car to my network. at the previous position, it couldn't see the wifi network. I use a linksys router w/ DD-WRT firmware.

It doesnt look like the bridge mode is the same as a bridge on a gaming bridge for like xbox and stuff. it can only connect in ad-hoc mode...... Is there anyway to install the Belkin Dongle without all that dumb software...... Thats really only my big problem....
