what is a good one and how do you think the range on this would be?

Would you not look for a wireless N adaptor ? They should have better range overall ?

802.11n is not an accepted standard and is not widespread.
It certainly has the potential to offer better range, but only to a 802.11n network. Good luck finding one "out in the wild".

Two issues with that unit, though:

1 - $160 for WiFi is pretty steep.
2 - Out of stock for at least two weeks.

I just ordered this one, the reviews have been positive:

Plus a 7 dBi magnetic base external antenna.

It's a lot cheaper than that RadioLabs one, for the same power (500 mw). Comparing receiver sensitivity ratings between the two, the RadioLabs one is better. But for 1/3 the price, I'll give it a shot!
