Help! I need to get a new phone & software for BT & RR

Here is my problem. I currently have a Motorola Razar phone and my contract for the phone is with my companies plan. I know next to nothing about cell phone specs, and I would like to setup bluetooth in RR to place hands free calls. I want to purchase an unlocked cell phone that I can put my sim card into that works well in a bluetooth connection with RR. Also what software would be best to integrate with RR to place calls. So I guess I am looking for some education on what phone works with what software the easiest.

The reason no one has replied is because there is no definitive answer to your question. There are virtually thousands of thousands of posts here about phone integration with RR, as well as bluetooth hands free. But most available software is phone specific and bluetooth integration is highly subject to your skills/luck with bluetooth drivers install into Windows XP, your bluetooth hardware/software, your skill/luck configuring com ports, and a whirlwind of other issues.

If there were a simple answer we'd have posted a FAQ long ago, but its not. So you need to search through the forums for your provider, your possible phone, your bluetooth device and driver, your motherboard, etc. You got a lot of research ahead of you, so let me give you a hint: if you want to both control the phone and use the CarPC as hands free you're probably better off with a wired option vice bluetooth cause you'll need both phone and bluetooth dongle to support two simultaneous connections which are rare and buggy.

Good Luck!
