I think they should be making this faster than 56k It seems stupid to go back to slowness after using broadband. If they could get a 1mbit connection down and .5mbit up that would be a really nice service. I would pay $40 - $50 for that.

I looked at the US version of the site and was very excitied at the prospect of a cheap wireless internet, only to go to the site for the same company (T-Mobile) here in the UK and found they were trying to charge us £50 ($90) for a piddly 50mb allowance a month plan!

I've sent an email asking why exactly the same company can charge us in the UK so much for a service the USA is receiving for a piddly £16!

Awaiting their colourful response!

Paul

Add me to the list of people using their Sprint Vision plan to access their high speed network without being "terminated". All you have to do is just take it easy on how much you browse. I easily get speeds that these Edge folks are talking about...and IT'S FREE!

Maybe you'll luck out and Vodafone will buy them out as they are up for sale right now...

Xanadu1979, just because you use the pcs vision service through the usb cable doesn't mean they are instantly going to cancel you, I've had vision since it was released and I'm part of the sprint developer network I was mearly pointing out that using the service that way was a violation of the terms of service and they do have the ability to cancel you for doing that. If you check your mail every couple of days no big deal but if you guys plan on using it for "mobile internet" you can expect your account to be questioned.

Question

If I have this air card pluged into my computer, will I still need a phone to get on the internet?

Didnt we ask for a wireless communication forum a few months ago? I think we should, since this wireless internet discussion keeps popping up.
For now, I'm sticking with my Sprint Vision plan until another service comes along with 300K+. I'm getting a killer deal for my Sprint Vision. I like the fact that I can still receive calls even when I'm on the Internet.

I have been using the SprintPCS Vision stuff with a USB cable and have been thrilled with it as well.
cproaudio...what happens when a call comes in? Just puts your connection on hold? I have never had anyone call when I am logged in.

Nathan

This is what happened. In Jan at CES, I was in my hotel room. My laptop was hooked up to my sprint phone and I was on the internet. All of the sudden my page stop loading and the up/down arrows on the phone grayed out and the phone rang. I pushed send and started talking to my friends for I think 15 minutes. When we got done talking and hit End, the up/down arrows light up and page finished loading. I was thrilled. After CES, I came home, had my sprint phone plugged into the CarPC and connected to the internet. I went inside the house and grabbed my cordless and called my cellphone. Samething, the page stopped loading and the phone rang. I tried it several times. Sometimes it would take me straight to voice mail but most of the time I can get through. All while being connected. It's basically like receiving a call while you're using the Vision to access the internet.

Thats awesome and good to know. I was not aware of that. I guess I will not be afraid to be connected more often in my truck then. I have plenty of minutes as I have a 3 phone business plan setup.
