Im in the same boat. connects for a second or two, then disconnects because of bad username and password.

You guys turned your NAI off yet? Haven't gone through this entire thread but if you have the A900 then do this.

1. Settings
2. Display
3. Press zero
4. Type in 040793
5. Go down to Toggle NAI and turn it off

You should now be able to log on no problems.

Sprint Phones as Modems...

For Everyone who has a EVDO phone, as of Feb 1st Sprint changed their billing software to "Shut Down" people who were using their phones as modems. They believe even though you have the unlimited vision pack that is not all you can drink EVDO data access. The 3G phones still work great as the modems....

Is this "shim" for surfing on the handset or utilizing the MM-A900 as a high speed EVDO modem?

You have to use this to use it as a EVDO modem through a laptop or PDA. Otherwise the phone will log into vision with your phones ID and kick you out unless you have the "phone as a modem plan." If you turn off the NAI Sprint can't do crap about it other than 2 options.

1. Start to bill people seperately for doing this
2. Produce a firmware upgrade that will lock this out (this will happen probably in the upcoming months).

EVDO = Evolution Data Object, In my terms faster than the slow *** Pacer in the fast lane with the right turn blinker set to stun that I blew by doing a Buck 50 on my magic carpet being guided by the compass pointing east

You got the redheaded step child for Sprint. A phone that had potential but it was VERY SHORT lived and Sprint offered absolutely no support pretty much since day one. Not many people know about the 608 but it was a pioneer of its time.

Just gunna throw this out there.

I have a verizon phone and I use the slow speed free (probably illegal) (does high speed cost more idk)

I software called DataPilot. Its GREAT not only lets you access your phone to back up numbers and such but will give all the phone numbers and codes you need to connect to almost any network. You hook up your phone (via USB, IR or (i believe) bluetooth) and then just select your phone from the list. It does cost money but resourceful people may be able to "find" a copy for free.......

best post ever! I was scouring the net for free dialup numbers before this, I was dialing star 777 instead of pound 777! connected at 115kbps on t608- not bad. And it gets even better- I started to download firefox after connecting, when the phone rings. Irate- I answer and its the chicago tribune- I've told these guys to go blow like six times already... I have the most trustworthy news... the internet! anway after yelling at them I look at it's still downloading! no missed calls, no disconnect! sony ericcson BT is the shizzle!
