It was called Sprint Broadband direct and was based on licensed frequencies.

WiMax = 802.16d

We have an apartment complex here in starkville that has some 802.16a equipment, which they then transfer to some 802.11b AP's throughout the complex.

I'll take pictures if you guys wanna see it.

But it was similar, except I think the wi-max idea is non-directional. Hence the roaming part.
