i have sprint and with a usb cable and my laptop i get free unlimited internet on my laptop anywhere there's sprint service. it connects at 230 kbps 230 kbps always. it rocks

i went to radio shack and spent 45 on a dialer disc they gave me the 25 dollar cable for free i put the disc in the laptop plugged in the cable and within 2 minutes i was on line. you don't use any aol or earthlink or anything. i created a shortcut on my desktop to the modem dialer, (the disc software) i click on that and connect to the internet than i click on the "e" emblem for explorer and i'm on line. (sorry im not to techno worded)

He connects at 230kbps but his throughput is MUCH less. It is free since he doesn't pay a special data plan fee.

dang stimps nothing is "free" a few dollars aint gonna kill ya. i have a data plan with sprint so i don't pay any extra for going on line. and whatever the speed is its about ten times as fast as dial up, i'm just guessing on the ten times part, but thats how fast it seems. so whatever maybe somebody else has a way better idea than me. sorry for trying. but so you know anywhere thers sprint i'm online with my badass laptop.

Very interesting thread.
I cant imagine that TMobile will keep free GPRS for long. In fact a friend of mine says that he pays per KB for his GPRS on TMobile... so I am not sure why it would be free.

But active service is required right? I can't just buy a prepaid phone, let it expire, and still have the GPRS right? Someone please clarify.

yes id still like to have someone explain how it is free. Companies dont knowingling allow themselves to go broke by giving away free internet. Please explain how this works.

It's elementary my dear Watson - dude, what don't you understand??? The topic here is T-Mobile...the OP went through pains and detailed the step by step process to get free internet access via T-Mobile, what is there that you don't understand???

Have you even tried doing a little more research and possibly going to the T-Mobile website?? If you did, you will notice that "Free WAP Access" is a feature on most all calling plans (I believe it is a also a feature on current prepaid phones). Anyways, do a google on this topic. We can't all do the work for you.

I think it might be the fact that im in australia, and here, we have very little in the way of deals like this. We dont have T mobile, sprint or any of that other ****.
We just have two major phone companies, telstra and optus. And no one has ever been able to get "free" internet using a mobile

if you can browse the internet on your phone, you can get internet access. because whenever your on the internet with your phone, it becomes a portal,for lack of a better term. i wish i knew better how the system works but, for me all i did was create a new "modem connection" with a software disc entered no password or user id left the lines blank and the disc told me that the dial in number was #777. this is the data number that sprint uses when it connects me on line. now i use the phone as a modem but i get real time internet on my laptop. just create a new modem with windows find out how your phone dials to the internet and enter that as the phone number. it may be this easy or not i don't know

what is the cheapest/oldest phone I can use to access tmobile free internet on my laptop? I dont guess it has to be bluetooth, just so long as I can get a data cable and connect it to my carpc

Party's over for me. T-MO cancelled my "free unlimited" wap access that is stated in my service agreement. I called the service rep and she said that "free unlimited" wap access means that you can get onto t-zones to download ringtones, wallpapers, etc. Oh by the way, it costs to download this stuff and t-zones wap connectivity costs $5 per month. How is this free my friends? You gotta help me out with this one.

Anybody know how to get around the block they put on my wap access?

Party is technically over for me too. Now it says i have to contact T-mobile for unlimited t-zones which is $4/month.... BUT we still have our favorite bootleg friends out there in internet land who i'm sure have figured out a way to hack this some how. I'm gonna read up and check out the other links that were posted on this thread and i'll post my findings..... Lets try to keep this party going!
