You should be able to set separate settings for each connection. I have to set it up once and then it just works.
Hmm the $2.99 plan you say. Maybe I should cancel the $4.99 and drop back to the $2.99 one instead.

I have the SK2 also and I don't believe that it can be used as a modem. Also the sidekick unlimited data is handled a little differently from the standard unlimited data plan. You can't put your SK2 sim into another phone and use that for GPRS access, only voice services. You may want to search on the Sidekick forums for more info though:

so does anyone here have the knowledge to say for sure, if here in australia, with my GPRS enabled 6110 mobile phone, on the optus 29 plan, I can get free internet? It just sounds like a far fetch to me.

I got my "free" internet working too with the $4.99 TZones, it stopped working earlier, then I came back to this forum. After reading up, I used proxy with that IP address(somewhere in here) on port 8080. Internet still works perfect. However the java applications on my phone that use the internet, cannot connect anymore.
Did anyone see or solve this problem. BTW, I have nokia 6600 with Tmobile..

Anyone tried Unlimited T-Zones with T-Mobile pay-as-you-go?
If I get a year card for T-Mobile prepaid, its only $100... so it nets out to about $8.30/month for 83 minutes of talk time each month, plus unlimited in-car internet.
Now after the first year (or $100 in refills, whatever is soonest) you become a "gold rewards" member and all refill cards, including the lowest card ($10), lasts a whole year.
Plus... T-Mobile says T-Zones is available with pay as you go plans right here: http://support.t-mobile.com/knowbase...ic/tm20530.htm
So why not unlimited net?

So should I be able to get the pay-as-you-go plan ($100 one for a year) and have unlimited internet access? Also what is a good phone to have? I currentyl have a local cellular service and don't want to get rid of them but would like internet access in the car. Which phone is best for bluetooth and regular USB? Thanks for the input.

I am just hopping on the pay as you go bandwagon like everyone else. Im wondering if I understand this all right:
I get a pay-as-you go sim card from ebay, and a phone for it like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...785081966&rd=1
Pop them together, add a data cable, set it up on the computer, and call the data phone number. Then proxy all http stuff over port 8080 to access the web.
Questions are:
1. Like everyone else im wondering if pay as you go includes unlimited internet under this configuration in wap or gprs or whatever
2. Can I proxy other data then HTTP (like a SSH session) over that 8080 connection? Then I can just host a server on my home connection and route all the data through that.
And what would be really neet to know... does this service have enough bandwidth to handle a shoutcast stream? Im sure it doesnt (my sprint internet connection cant do it) but I would really like to hear someone prove me wrong.
Sorry for being a noob about this, but this thread is a confusing mess because of the length of time between the origional post and the present.

THe answer to most of These questions are..."Yes" It still works on port 8080 as long as you have WAp Access. I have Tzone 4.99, and i can check my Yahoo mail, browse Wap.ebay.com and many other wap sites on my phone.....I have Ericsson t637...just like t610 or t630. Laptop internet works when i use it as Bluetooh Dun Modem connection. THE only Problem is that ....I can't access SSL sites. You can still browser the net for information purpose only....NO logging in or out to any website at all!!...
Correct me if i'm wrong...and perhap provide info on accessing SSL sites will be usefull. thanks
