Alright well now that I see this post http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/wire...s-adapter.html
about the Engenius USB adapter I may just go that route.

Kinda sounds like you can't go wrong, and everyone that seems to have bought it, minus a couple with hibernation issues seem to love it.

Ah.
Bridge to me is the windows bridge device that you can setup in "network connections".
But you are correct. Any hw wifi radio is a bridge from wifi to USB or Ethernet.
Good luck

Is there any reception difference between using a PCI or USB wifi adaptor?

You'll need a jumper to go from your pc to an external antenna. AFAIK there aren't any "stick on" wifi antenna repeaters. There are some stick on blade style omni antennas though. You could stick one to the inside of a window. Preferably the one closest to your house while parked.

Best way, get a new card. For the mimo part to work correctly, you'll need 3 antennas spaced correctly apart. That card can't do external antennas anyway, and hacking on antennas without any previous microwave radio experience is a pretty good way to kill the card, or hurt yourself.

Yes, you should be able to do it, there is a setting somewhere in windows wireless networking. Not on lappy or CarPC so I can't confirm at present.
