damn it looks sharp...and my olympus camera USB cable fits in the charger input(the only input on the entire thing)...plugged it in my computer and it came up as a mass-flash-storage.

Cool! Thanks for the low-down guys. I think I will go to Cingular and get a GSM Razr. There are some sweet deals online - sign up for a 2 year contract and get a Razr free - after rebates. Can't beat that!

You can get a cdma razr thru Verizon. I find Verizon annoying also but there service is vastly superior to Cingular and others in my area. You may want to find some people with Cingular in your area and see how happy they are with their service before you switch.

Yup. I'm way ahead of ya. The Cingular service in my area is comparable to Verizon. They each have their quirks, but it's generally a wash. My big concern is reception at my desk at work - Verizon is non-existant - Cingular is unknown. Also, Verizon has a dead spot on my way too/from work that kicks me off the network every time. For some strange reason, when the phone reaquires, my voicemails get lost. Sometimes it's a couple days before I get them - making voicemail less than useless because people think I got the message when I didn't even know about it. So I'll try Cingular. It's likely that they'll have the same dead spot, since they often share towers, but it's worth a shot.

Actually I think that Cingular and Verizon have different towers....
Cingular/T-Mobile = GSM
Verizon/Sprint = CDMA
Nextel = iDen

Will a CDMA Razr work on Sprint? All Sprint phones seem to be about 2 years old. The idea of the phone showing up as a usb storage device makes me pitch a tent.

No it won't.
CDMA phones work through ESN numbers. Sprint has different ESN numbers than Verizon. The only way that you might be able to trick them into letting you use a verizon phone on their system is if there's a similar phone that works with sprint.
Peace,
Rafster

I just ordered a motorola e815 for my verizon service last night. supposibly you can uncripple the bluetooth and be able to use it to transfer anything. hopefully i dont mess the phone up in the process though. we'll see how it goes.

Here's the thing. You can uncripple the BT in the V710 and E815, but WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE TO???
Peace,
Rafster

OK, my boss just blew my whole idea out of the water. He's going to get me a new blackberry with the unlimited data plan thru Alltel. Since I don't use my phone for many personal calls, I'm going to cancel my old phone! Yippee!!
Now the big question is can I use the new blackberry with my carPC (via bluetooth) to access the internet??!??

Sorry to hijack the thread but I am probably going to replace my v710 fairly soon. I know specs but I am torn between the razr and the e815, any opinions? Sorry Rafster I am not going to switch from Verizon to Cingular.
