boost data speeds are slow - but i have been able to get internet without being charged at all. But it doesnt really matter as your money expires after 3 months anyway. so it gets used either way

For a little extra cash you can use accutracking http://support.accutracking.com/docs/boostsetup.html To track your phones location. Works with boost i450 phone. It is like $8 a month on top of the $6 you pay for boost. But you get online tracking of your phone in real time .
www.mologogo.com is the same, but FREE.

That way we would only need the phone for internet and GPS! I've never done any programming for phones so im not sure how easy it would be to create an app that would allow us to use both at the same time. Since the phone probably only has one serial line on it. you would only be able to use one option at a time. If only it also had bluetooth enabled
Oh well just a thought.
The Accutracking software only runs on the phone. It can use the internet and GPS at the same time because it has access to both the cellphone part and the GPS part. The cables only allow one or the other.

You could always get a GPS cable and a modem cable, open them up, and figure out the pin-out of connector so you could make your own. I added "charge from usb" to my phones USB cable just by shorting one pin to USB power. Now it charges perfectly while I use it in the car

Ok I've got the 450 and did the test listed above to determine if phone was running in widen. Its showing PCH on the debug screen, but it does seem to be getting ok speeds.
Mobile test on dslreports showed a 24kbps connection, so am I getting iden or widen with that?

I have the baud rate set to 900k which is max. Will play around with it a bit more. Sounds like I need to get a cp done though, damn was hoping to get by without having to find the software.

Okay guys, I just picked up an i450 off ebay for $12.50, and a Sim card with $10 card starter package for $13 off Ebay. So far, $25.50 with a free $10 in return.
Gotta grab a datacable and charger and I'm go for this in my area. I'll let you guys know results when I get hooked up.
