You may need but a boost activation packet with a $10 usage card. It should have a sim card in there. At least that was how mine came when I bought it. Was she on boost or nextel?

No, I haven't messed with any of that on this phone. I did see webjal had some sort of ringtone menu. Did you use webjal or something similar to upload mologogo?

Check into Bitpim. Dunno if it supports it, but it might:

The boost works great although the service was bumped to .35 cents per day. I hooked up the phone with a serial to i415 data cable (serial) and a i415 usb charger cable to an MFC. I can now receive SMS text message if my car alarm goes off, lock/unlock, remote start, disable the vehicle and track it as well over an internet ready cellphone or computer. Cost of all this per month is .35 cents per day as well. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Once my alarm is triggered, it sends a pulse to the MFC. From there it transmits to the phone which sends an SMS text. There is also a tach input that allows you to view if the car is on, RPM's and MPH. The best part of all this is that it's top notch budget security and tracking. I paid $299 for the MFC unit, serial cable, usb charger cable and 1yr free unlimited service.
Cheekz- I can show you how it works, since you live in queens as well.

Is the web access still only billed on days you use it? I just picked up a flyer, and it seems to say that it is billed daily once enabled, regardless of whether you use it.

Tom it is true. Boost charges you .35 per day regardless. So in addition to using it for data in the car, I figured why not make the most of it and use it for security as well. But, in the end...how can you beat .35 a day? I just hope they don't BOOST it up more since it was .20 cents a few months ago.

Perhaps someone can answer a quick question for me. I am looking for a standalone security system tracker. If I get one of these phones, and just leave it plugged it, would it be set? Or does the gps client need to be reloaded everytime the phone loses signal or what not? Meaning can I just set it up and forget it or am I gonna need to constantly baby sit it? Thanks,
John

John, I just posted above. I'm using the i415 with data on it. hooked up to an MFC. I never need to babysit it. I listed a few things it does above.

It means you can use as much data as you want for the day for 35 cents. Kinda like the $1 PTT, it cost a $1 for the whole day, but only for the days you use it.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.
