This whole thing is just freakin' sweet...
It almost removes my need for Wifi (though transferring files to my car, and using VNC to control the carputer definitely will need faster bitrates) ..
I am DEFINITELY integrating this into my research/plans for my carpc.

Yea but those are boasting prices of at least $50 a month just for service in my car.
I wouldn't be using the internet in the car except in the rare occasion where I wasn't around a wifi ap, or within cellphone reach of someone local/GPS.
The only reason I would keep a wifi in the car is for when it's parked, at home, where my router/ap in the garage, reaches it. :-)

Yeah, it's looking to be a bit pricey (well, a LOT pricey), but this would cover my M10000 and the N800 and a block party on a mountain top and...

How can I enable wiDen on them?
Is it as more cost effective to get the boost i415 (i450 for widen) or enable internet on my existing plans?add info.

I know jack about the i860 and i560. I've never used one or even seen one. However, after Googling "i560 wiDen" I found on Howard forums that not only is the i560 wiDen enabled, but you do not have to enable it. It is already enabled.
As for what is more cost effective, the boost mobile option or enabling internet on your existing plan, I do not know the terms of your service agreement, the data rates or plans available nor how much you intend to use the data features so I am unable to to perform a cost/benefit analysis of your options.

Ok I'm no reading all this posts but for people asking if their I450 is widen anable, search for my posts in this thread (I already explain how to check for it) anyways short explication is that y ou have to enter a test mode and then access the net future on the phone and on top next to the signal bars you find some info and "If" and only "if" that info start with a "w" your phone is widen anable.
I have the phone for a couple of days and it was rether slow so I search howard forums for the info (even DL some testing programs) but then discover that it doesn't matter if the phone is widen anable the repeter have to be also anable (in the towers) and here in miami they are off.
Anyways switched to evdo paying $60 and I love it
Thanatos.

ok sorry im not asking clear questions. I have determined that both the phones I have I560 and i860, are widen enabled.... I have the data service turned on at 15$ per month. I have the data cable. Now this is where I am stuck. I can see the phone as a modem under devices, buts thats about it.
Do I need to dial a special number? or a dial up #?
Do I need to set anything on the phone to connect to the net through the laptop/carpc?
Do I need any software on the pc that will be connected to the phone to operate?
Im near Sarasota, in FL, do I use the Miami towers ya think? and if not how do i figure out if my towers are capable of this?
Thanks.

I've got the i450 and purchased a data cable from an Amazon retailer. Turns out it was the wrong cable.
Anyone have a link to the proper charger/USB cable? The phone works fine, the GPS is close enough for gov't work and I'd like to be able to use mologogo to implement car tracking for cheap.
Thanks in advance!
