No.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boost_Mobile
Quote:
Since Boost Mobile USA runs on iDEN, it uses a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card (incompatible with GSM or other wireless technologies) to store user information. Thus it is possible to use Boost Mobile with a Nextel handset simply by inserting the Boost SIM card into the handset.

I"m considering buying one of those little moble boost phonse. Best Buy, or any store doesnt sell them in this area so maybe from online. Looked at the i415 and i450 and thought of getting the i415 because I dont need so much. But theres a few things I cant figure out. Does the phone package include the serial cable. if yes then good. I could get a usb charging cable down the road. And will web access be supported in the future. If I download the software, and manage to get packet data to the pc while drive, I would want the service to continue.

No, it did not come with WiDen enabled stock... I had to search and join like 5 different Nextel/Boost forums to get the code pluggin g software. Once I was able to get the software, all I did was upload my code plug to one of the site, and someone activated WiDen for me on my phone.
Peace,
Rafster
P.S. The link in my sig will stay the same size so that no newb will say, "Oh I missed that thread...."

Ebay has a whole bunch. You might also want to try Craigslist in your area.. I found an i450 someone was selling like 6 miles away from me for like $40, but he had already sold it by the time I had e-mailed him.

If you actually want to do web browsing, get the i450, you can enable WiDen, and get decent speeds (60-80KBPS)

About 4 times slower. An i450 may be worth the extra $30 to you.
No, you don't need widen to use the net.
