BT voice and data from Treo 650?

Can I connect my Treo via BT and easily go back and forth from data to voice? I primarily want to connect the phone for receiving/making calls, but would want to use it to connect to the internet whenever I want to. Do I just need a BT dongle? I'll be running Roadrunner as a front end.

Yes, all you need is a bluetooth dongle.

Cool, so roadrunner has the software I need? What about for connecting to the internet? On my laptop, I use a program called PDAnet to run the internet on my laptop via my Treo. Do I need to load that software on my carpc as well?

No.
You use Dialup networking in windows in conjunction with the drivers for the bluetooth dongle.

Don't use the default Windows XP Sp2 bluetooth stack though. I have tried to use it and many of the features don't work. When you buy your adapter it will come with specific drivers and you will need to use those. I have a Belkin adapter and with the Belkin drivers I get DUN, voice, serial, file transfer, and a bunch of others. With the Sp2 stack I only get file transfer which doesn't even work all that well. There's a lot of good info out there about how to disable the windows bluetooth driver and enable the one that came with the device.

Agreed The native XP bluetooth stack blows chunks.
My bluetooth dongle uses the BlueSoleil stack. IT works quite nicely.

Hate to bring up an old thread. I just got my bluetooth dongle with BlueSoleil.. Do you have your RR setup so when it tries to access the internet, it automatically connects to the Treo without having to do anything?? I havent installed it in my CarPC yet, but when I was messing with it on my home computer, the Windows Dial Up dialog would come up and I would have to tell it to connect

Ideally, I'd like to find someway that if there is no internet connection, it'll look for the Treo and connect to it automatically.

I don't use RR at all.
Now, I was able to set up the internet connection manager in WinXP to automatically connect via the bluetooth dialup, and it worked pretty well.
In the properties of the dialup connection, you need to set it to not prompt for username/password and make sure the password is saved.

Also, in the Internet Connections int eh control panel on the Connections tab, set it to use the BT DUN connection if there's no network present.
