We will post more pics of the amp rack as it comes together. The Climate controls are now molded to the centerconsole above the second screen. Tehy will actually sit below the dash trim bezel where the ahs tray and power outlets used to be.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy ***** man subs right in the center. That is a first i would have to say. WOW i don't have anything to say the picture speaks for itself. If yea didn't look thru the hole thread i posted pictures that i cut the back end of the floor board out and installed my sub and power cap in the floor. We are working on my amp rack right now. I should have sound here not this weekend but maybe the next. The only thing left is to complete the center console lots of sanding and maybe just alittle bit more bondo and its ready for paint. My AC/Heat controls are molded into the center console. Check out the picture i have the console all labled up were things are going and how they are layed out. I can't get over that your subs are right in the middle i would really like to hear that. It looks like a wall of speakers that people have done but you put the wall in the middle. WOW

I'd just like to chime in about the SQ of an all CarPC system....
There shouldn't be any question about if it can sound as good as a regular HU.
3 years solid in USACi and 4 titles later I'm living proof that it can.
Still working on IASCA, but it's a bit difficult to get used to the format when they don't make it to this part of the world...ever...
One question I have about your first few pics though. It looks like when you cut out the floor of the truck, you nicked the drive shaft quite a bit with the sawz-all. I'd be very careful about having an unbalanced drive shaft now. Any thing like that can cause problems....especially at high speeds.

Yea IASCA is pretty much an east coast and west coast thing. It's not like it was back in the early 90's. But with some help from IASCA and audio companys here in colorado we are hoping to have 2 or 3 good shows this next year.
Yea it's all good. The floor was cut over 6 years ago This is the third rebuild of the system and the LAST!!!!! What it is is the undercoating that i used so it looks like i cut it. I didn't it's ok runs great no problems. 160,000 miles on the truck drive train is good. I do have one question for yea. what are some of the programs that you are using to get the EQ and sound that you are looking for? And the soundcard that you are using. i would have to guess that a pretty good sound card with either coxial or digital outputs on it would have to be used. I'm a full time high end home/commercial audio/video guy i've own my company for the last 10 years now and have done some hugh jobs. The largest job i have done is the Pepsi center here in denver. I'm not trying to get my audio/video world into my truck but i do like trying new things. The 12 volt world to me is very tough much more then what I'm used to. But just like in the things that i do everyday i would like to push the limits of what i can do in my truck also just to see if i can do it. Thats is what makes it fun and keeps me out of trouble. So any info on computer based only EQ's and SQ programs would be great and I'll check it out and maybe i can try it out and see what i think. Right now we are using the Alpine PHX-701. It's small i like the controller and it gives me a nice 4 volts out to my amps and has the right inputs that I'm looking for. But like i said I'm open to anything i just want it to sound good. It can be the uglyest thing on the face of the planet and i don't care as long as it sounds good to my ear.

I'm currently using an onboard optical output to an alpine 701 - HOWEVER, I would suggest reading here: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/car-...ns-tuning.html
I'm going to test this in our truck before I move to implement it in our show car.

I'm really diggin the touch pad and it's location. Can you explain how you mounted the board with the touch pad to the top of the console and what all the yellow stuff is?

Look back on page 3 of my thread and you will see that the shape of the top of the console was made out of wood to match it. After that we took the mouse apart and just took the plastic top part of the mouse and cut a hole the same size as it and super glued into the wood. The lid is made up in 2 parts so we took the console apart cut a hole the same size as the mouse thru the top so we could mount the touch pad back into the cover. The nice part is that all you have to do is snap the bottom part of the lid back on and you can't see the back of the mouse there is just enough space between the 2 parts of the lid to work and allow the mouse wire to sit between them and run the wire right out the bottom back of the lid. Very slick What you are looking at is bondo and what that did is fill in the space all around the wood that the mouse case was super glued into and fill the gaps to make it all look nice and even on the top. Then is was sanded down smooth and painted up. Took about 3 hours from start to finished. It turned out MUCH MUCH better then i hoped it would. My first thought on the mouse was just to drill a hole to put the cable thru and just sit the pad on the console. My buddy that is also working on the truck saw the pad took it apart and said "Hey we can flush this in the console to make it look like it was made for it" OH well YEA and this is what we ended up with. Very happy with it.

thanks for the explination. I wasn't sure if you had to cut a whole in the top piece of the console or not. I think the wife is going to be getting me one of those touch pads for Christmas - gonna have to steal this idea!

Center console DONE!!!!!!!
Here are some pix of the center console painted and the center console with the Heat/AC controls-8 inch monitor-Alpine 701 controller-Sony mini DVD burner/player. If you are wandering about the propane heater in one of the pictures yes it was cranked up today becasue it was snowing and 20 damm degrees today in denver But it was nice in the garage. If things go well i should have SOUND playing by the end of the day. Pix to follow with the console installed in the truck.
