2000 chevy truck Install

Well Here is my install. I started in car audio about 15 years ago working on my own cars and trucks. I've been and IASCA member for years. The thing that has bug the hell out of me over the past few years with the new touch screen head units is that you can't really change any of the backgrounds or the look of the unit. So its computer time

I got a real good buddy of mine that is into car audio big time and we both have worked on the truck. I'm good at comming up with ideas on what to do on my truck and he helps me getting it up and running. Oh and i thought it would be a good idea to pull out the air saw and cut a hole in the bottom of my truck so i could install a 10 inch sub and my amps. Each one of the doors are also getting a 10 inch sub installed into them also. There is a show comming up soon here in town so we are busting butt to get it all done in the next month or so. Also mp3car.com has really help me out in getting the right parts for this build and the forums have been great so thanks to all. More to come over the next few weeks. The computer that I'll be using is my old dell 8200 inspiron laptop that will be in the center console. Pix to follow on that.

Your Sub is going to hang out under the truck! SWEET!!! I guess it would work, looks like you have enough ground clearance.

Yea the sub box is just at the same level as my skid plate so its all good. When the sub is installed all ytou will see is the back of the sub it will be firing into the box. Also everything will be at floor level so i can still have people in the back and not stepping on things.

Sweet ride, can't wait till it's finished! I actually thought about cutting under the rear seat to make more airspace for my Eclipse SW9122, but didn't have the balls to go through with it. Good luck, it looks like you're getting off to a great start.

Yea we cut the truck up about 3 1/2 years ago for the first time. On this new build i just made the hole a little bigger and re-did the box. This time around we did a metal frame and fiberglassed around it. I wanted to make the sub and all of the amps nice and level with the truck floor no weird humps or anything on the floor so i can have people in the back without any problems. If you do cut the floor you have to move your fuel filter

i forgot about that part it is a pain in the *** to get to if you dont. On this build i moved it about 2 feet closer to the front of the truck on the frame so i can get to it a lot easyier.

Ok here is the dash. This is a picture of what it looked like before and what it now looks like with the hole glassed in for the zenarc 10.3 monitor. Its not painted yet just ready for paint.

belive it or not that was the old system. It's all gone.

But all new stuff going in so it's all good.

Here is a pix of the front bumper. Install new PIA lights and an escort passport SRX radar system. Here is a link to check out the info on this system. Very cool system and yes it works I've had it for over 3 years now and it has saved my butt a few times from getting a ticket. Some states are pretty hard on radar systems but the nice thing about this one is that it is hidden very had to pick up on.

Yea its alittle pricey but worth it. This week we start wiring up the truck big time. So by the end of the june i should have tunes. God knows i miss it.
