2007 Kia Sorento myCarPC project from Brazil

It´s just to star my worklog where I´ll show the status of my carpc project. I've already bought almost everything I need.
I´m planning to install into the original 2din standard radio dash hole.

Status

Eng - 90%
Proc - 90%
Const - 50% (including s/w)
Comm - 10%

I would recommend you to take a look at DigitalFX 2.0 skin.

I´d like to use that skin but, unfortunately, I think it doesn´t support destinator. Isn´t it?

Today´s status:

Eng - 90%
Proc - 80% (mobo Via Epia 1ghz, tv/fm encore pci card, m2-itx dc-dc, 7"lcdTS from HK, obdii usb-scan, 2din dash install kit and harness, aluminum case, BT dongle, 3g modem, usb hub, garmin 3+gps and ext antenna) (still missing 2.5" 80gb hd and slim dvd drive)
Const - 5%
Comm - 0%

No, I use RR with DigitalFX 2.5 and I run Destinator 6.

I'm in process to configure the frontend. - I've choosen from RoadRunner (thanks Guino) with BMW e36 skin (thanks Robby), many thanks to this forum and their creators and members for sharing your knowledges and also thanks for those whose colaborate with their efforts making their stuffs (plugins, .dlls, ect), improvements and keeping the things running.

Ok, coming back to the subject...

Now, I installed RR and E36 skin (which I modified the BMW logo for a KIA Sorento one) cause it has everything I need unless for the ODB2 skin which I'll plan to build myself and use Kia logo as a button access for it.
I got FM radio working through DS .dll Radiator; TV via Winamp plugin; Music via Winamp; and testing successfully an unregistered PhoneControl with it.

Next weekend I'm planning to get dvd and video skin working. I need to speed up my project in order to use the carputer during my vacations in january!

so I hope to be alive during the next months!

About the TV/FM, I have a PCI card too, but I removed it due to its height. I am installing the CarPC in the trunk (see worklog). So the solution for me would be one of those USB FM Radio Tuners. I will bet one next month.

If you're only worried about the height of the PCI board, you can get a "raiser" adapter which plugs onto the PCI slot and onto the card making it set sideways over the motherboard.

I'm starting to think how I will install my setup. I'm going to a motorized lcd from a dvd drive unit (as I posted here http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/fabr...dvd-drive.html)

Also I found (down of my nose) the solution for the carpc case... an old desktop cover which fits perffectly into a 2din size (take a look at these photos below).

Certainly I'll need to cut and make some holes but I don't need to fold or weld anymore.

Sure! is an epia mini-itx size and it's smaller than a 2din unit in wide.
I think will only need to replace my tv/fm card which is taller than a 2din height
