Completed Custom Projects: Test the box + touchscreen. Install the board with everything insinde the mcs case. Stereo to RCA, Override switch panel, harness, power hookup, wire installation.

I don't really want kids or get married so i think i can choose my car as my wife.

Well, my past relationships don't work because i move around too much because of my job. The only thing that has stayed with me for roughly 9 years now is my MR2.
Right now I'm in Spring Lake, NC. So anyone who's into the car PC scene can come visit me and help me out.

UPDATES: 19 feb 2008
stalled once again. lesson learned.
i got the case, but it doesnt support 3.5" hdd or dual hdd so my dual hdd adapter doesnt fit. great.
the GL701 (i already opened & drilled and everything) i got is the newer ones. really good even in daytime.
2003 HYUNDAI ACCENTS's dash DO NOT fit with the Lilli GL701. it will let the front part show, but unless u want the screen facing the shifter, no cheese.

YET AGAIN I am stuck between a rock and a hard spot.

lilliput i tried to buy from classifieds didnt go thru. so i'm watching this in-dash one on ebay i'll just get that one instead. i realized there wasnt any room on my mr2 for a 2 din and the touch panel, usb & switches i plan to attach.

new plan:
add in dash on din 1 then make control panel in din 2.
ill take pics tomorrow before i take out the radio and the extra compartment below it.
i'm going to mod the extra compartment to accomodate the touch panel, usb and manual switch for m1-atx.

update:
car broke down. just my luck.
so i'm SOL but i'm looking into using my tax refund to get it back up and running.
i might have to settle with putting my carpc into my hyundai accent.
i'll have to see how much i have to spend to get my mr2 fixed.

factory radio was a 2din cd + cassette. when i replaced it with my HU, i had to buy a spacer, im going to use that spacer to accomodate the touchpanel, usb and manual switches.
i started on the wires of the cap and amps, so it's a little messy in there. i'm going to need an amp rack before i permanently attach my car pc. till then, it might be staying in my passenger seat floor.

i hate to admit defeat but the only way i can use my carPC is to install it in my accent until i can get my mr2 up and running. then when i do get it running, i have to get an amp/carPC rack. it might take a good while before my mr2 see's a computer. but if takes a long long time, i might just build a new beefier one.

91 mr2 -> 03 accent
since everything is stock on the accent, i wont have 5.1ch audio.
NO BASS.

I HAD AN HOUR OF CARPC FUN UNTIL I HAD TO REPLACE THE DASH....

after all the prepping and time spent trying to get the carPC integrated in the hyundai, life fails me.
the dash does not allow the gl701 to come out more than half an inch and the way the dash is made, the gl701 only comes out to an angle facing the shifter.
FAIL FAIL FAIL.
oh yeah, the case wont let me use more than one 2.5" hdd or a 3.5" hdd. so i have to go to the local stores again and see if one of them have a 40pin to 44pin adapter.

im gonna go be sour until then.

so far, my final resolve will be:
yank the JVC from the mr2 and put that in the hyundai so i atleast have some music, stick the forsaken tom tom one on the windshield again.
remove all the wiring, harnesses, power hook-up, 10' vga extension, 10' usb extension, from the hyundai.

then i'm going to strip the mr2 of all the electronic stuff (amp, wirings, cap, etc) before i send it in the shop (less things to worry about). REDO all the wirings, harness, etc when i get it fixed (who knows how long that will take). have someone fabricate a 3 amp rack. install the gl701 in the mr2. bah. it will be awhile before i end up finishing this.

PULLED EVERYTHING FROM THE hyundai, installed the jvc hu instead.
it's back to the old drawing board.

Sorry to post here but your other thread was "Closed" and i could not send you an email. I too am taking the long, arduous task of figuring out XPe. It would be great to work on this task together. I am no genious when it comes to this task. Hope to hear from you.
