Yea but I still have to have a look that looks like it should be there. The one piece look should work. I am thinking of building a version out of MDF and then wrapping it in vinyl, even if it doesn't match 100% I can use it as a model for a eventual fiber glass one. See If I go the vinyl route, the texture will match all my interior, but will not 100% match the front console because plastic obviously looks different then plastic. Ive already wasted money on console 1 and 2, so I'm just going to take the plunge and see what comes out of it. To build the new one it should only be about $40.00... The expensive part is having it wrapped, but since this new one will be super simple, I may be able to wrap it myself. Lets see and hope for the best, lol.

Well today I received the power and switch buttons from parts-express.com... they sent 6 red switches and 6 headphone jacks. They were supposed to send 3 red and 3 black. I explained that normally it wouldn't matter, but the users have to be able to distinguish between power and pc selection. They sent out 3 black ones free of charge, so now i just have to wait. On the other hand I installed 3 of the headphone jacks for the armrests. The driver headphone jack will have to be put some other place because it will not fit, same with the power buttons. Not that big of a deal. I did however wire up the audio to the ethernet cable and tested on my Laptop. It actually works flawlessly, so I'm happy. I just hope the power and pc selection also work.

OHHHHHHH, we have very similar interiors then, your just missing everything after the passenger doors, lol. Is your regular cab or quad cab? Only thing that will be hard is that your dash is a different layout, but I have seen people work it out. I'll take some pix this weekend, I intend to finish laying out the rest of the wires. That includes the power wires for the last 4 screens. I also need the speaker wire, but I have to wait on that, its kind of pricey.

GOOD and so so BAD news!!!!!!!!!!!
I ran the ethernet cable for the door controls, on one side I guess the car was broken into, so it was never put on correctly. It made it alot easier for me to experiment on the door and see how it comes off. I got the panel off, only 3 screws hold it in. You unscrew, lift, detach the door opener rod and thats it. Got to look at the speaker, the new speakers have plenty of room. One shocking thing is that I took off the accordion tube that holds the wires from the car frame to the door and it actually has room in there for the ethernet and the 12 gauge speaker wire, so no drilling. This is on one of the rear doors which has a very small tube, so if it fits in there, then I am all set for the front, because the front tubes are even bigger. This is great new, looks like Dodge left room for major expansion.
On the so so bad side, I took out the driver side controls. I tried to get the panel with all the circuits off, but couldn't. After trying for 20 minutes, I got super p!$$ed and broke it. Funny thing is it broke in clean sections, the door, and window controls on one half, and the mirror controls on the other, exactly what I wanted. So what I have decided to do is delete the old mirror controls, there is no way I can use them, the buttons are too complex to rewire. Because that whole section is now coming out, I have room to put the headphone jack, PC selection button, second PC power, main PC power, main PC reset and the controls for the camera. So my anger actually got me somewhere, lol.

Center Console #3 and second row screens!
OK, I started on the new center console. I decided rather then try to make a separate looking unit, that I would make it look like an extension of the first, like the RX8. What I did was use thin MDF instead of the thick one. This allowed me to make the MDF flex and bend to the way I need it. The other reason I used thin MDF is so that it can be fiberglassed later. The new design is super simple, but it is taking longer because I am being very specific.
I also thought about screen placement for the second row. I have been breaking my head trying to figure out how to mount the screens. I have no decided to give in and go with headrest screens, its just easier. Only the rear screens will get regular Lilliput EBY701 which will be mounted to the side pillars. I would put them in the seats also but these seats flip forward, the wiring would be a nightmare, plus damage on the screens. So my wish of having all Lilliput EBY701 is gone :-(. I am still trying to figure out what model and brands to get. So now thats 5 EBY701, 1 EONEN 19 inch and 2 headrest units.

Tomorrow I am going to take pictures of what I have so far. That way you can tell me if it is to specifications to make it as easy as possible. I think so far the design is very simple. I left alot of space for you to add fiberglass. The only hard part is the top.... it has to have a compartment made to hide the USB ports and DVD Rom, but if they need them, they flip open a door. The cup holders are easy because I am using existing holders.

Thanx guys...... I just hope I can get it looking good. I may have to redo one side. If you guys notice its slightly to the side. I guess the seat, carpet and front console are not 100% level and or even. I may actually make it a 2 section design. From the PC to the back is one section, then the middle area between the two consoles would get another. I am seeing that with the design I have now, its hard to bend the thing and thats why its awkward and uneven. The stress is warping both sides differently.
