HAHAHAHAHA, oh god, I think ive created a "Cram as much stuff in your vehicle as possible" person. So that means you bought a Digital Quad Processor? I am having a issue with mine, it automatically defaults to this 4 way view when I turn on the car. I want to rewire the board so that when I turn on the car it automatically goes into 3 way view. I am not sure how to do this, this weekend I am going to open it up and take pictures. I am hoping some one has an idea on what areas to soder.

there's alot of great useful info here.

I really liked the idea of consolidating the power distribution to one board. I had that in mind last week: to put a board similar to yours where my cup holder is, in the center of the dashboard, and making it slide out like the cup holder does. But of course, the thought came to mind after I cleaned up my wiring a second time. Go figure.

BRB: I'm still browsing your build...

LOL read my worklog carefully because I changed my setup alot..... If you are talking about the panel under the seat, I had no choice, my setup is so large that if I dont do that, I will loose track of all the wires. Plus if a fuse blows out the chances of a uncontrollable fire are less, then if stuck next to alot of componenets.

That second console is turning out great, really lookin good! I don't know the reasoning behind having to create a work log instead of posting our builds in the show off your ride section from the get go.
The reality is, our builds always undergo some sort of improvement, and are never really considered finished. Therefore, nothing will make it into the "show-off" category of this site. I put mine there because I thought I was done. lol!

Great minds think alike, "the ultimate multi-media experience"- work is still in progress after two years.

Well I think becaue it would get confusing. It would all be mixed up with finished rides and none finished rides. That is true, they do change, I do know that once mine is done I am not doing anything to it, except maybe software. Other then that, I think I have crammed everything into this car and I dont see anything more I can add. Once the Car PC is done and the interior is all toghether, Im starting a new thread. I dont want it all mixed with this worklog.

Are you also using the KINO-690S1? This is odd, because the RAM worked before, the MoBo is new, so it cant be that. I have to assume its the Processor. What power supply do you have? I have a OPUS 320, maybe its acting up....

I using the KINO-690S just not in the Durango yet. I have a 300 watt PC power supply running on a bench system. I ordered a new processor, that did not work, or I should say did not help, and then I ordered new ram, still nothing. The fans spin, but no screen/bios. Might just go with a new motherboard even though this one was expensive

Yes very expensive. Problem is, I am anti Intel. I got the new version of the Kino-690S1. Version 11. It is built so much better. I will try to replace the CPU, if it is the CPU, It could be 2 things that killed it. One, is that i think I used way to much thermal past. Two, I think the heat sink that IEI provides is cr@p. It has this little cushions at the bottom and I think they prexxed down onto the processor to hard. I will try to replace the processor, and maybe the RAM, if it doesnt work, I have no choice but to go Intel. The issue with this MoBo is heat.... If you left the heat sink on the graphics card alone, then your graphics chip (which runs very hot, it was dumb for them to put a passive heat sink.) has the original cheap thermal paste that has hardened linke a rock. It maybe have over heated and blew out. Does the screen at least flicker? On mine the screen will come alive but then turn off (go into standby).

So over the Christmas holiday I worked a bit more on the center console. It has now officially become difficult, lol. I have a bad feeling it is going to be a b!+ch to upholster. Why do I make things so complicated. Anyways here are my pix!

On a side note, I am still waiting on a bunch of stuff. The USB touch controller has gone missing in the mail system and the seller is trying to locate it, I will never by foreign again. For $10.00 dollars more i could have bought locally and had it already. I also bought a monostable switch for my Digital Quad Processor. I had no choice but to get that from the UK, could not find one local and was to inexperience and impatient to build my own. That has also gotten lost. The new processor is on its way after finding out that to much thermal paste will kill a AMD processor, especially if it uses a conductive metal like silver. The new MoBo was stripped of all its heat sinks and I am putting better thermal paste, they used thermal tape which is the worst. If my MoBo honestly does not come alive, I have decided to cut my loses with AMD and go INTEL, I am hoping it does not come to that since i really prefer AMD. The processor should be here in a few days unless it gets slowed in the mail.

I have decided to delete my side mirrors 100%. I am going to ask nexson if he can cut my mirrors off the part that holds it to the car and redo them to hold small cameras instead. Similar to this

Which came from this thread. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/gene...ng-camera.html

At first I was worried about the law, and issues when turning, but I said fuk the law, lol, i want my car to look a certain way. The way the DQP works is it shows the rear as the main screen, then 2 PIP windows, one in the left corner and the other in the right corner. They are see able but still alittle to small for my liking. So Vincenttor pointed me to a site that has a box that has 3 RCA camera connections. It also has 2 wires that connect to your blinkers and one RCA to the screen. So what i am going to do is connect the DQP as the rear cam input on the device so I can see the 3 views. Then the left and right cameras get a splitter. Then a connection from each cam goes to the DQP and the other connection from each cam goes to the box. Basically when I turn left and use my blinker the box will switch to the left cam and enlarge it on the screen. Same thing with the right side. Once i turn off the blinkers it will default to the rear view which is 3 way view.

OK, I got my front dash from Nexson, looks awsome. I was wrong about the A/C panels being gloss black, so I had him do the bezel gloss black. It still actually looks good. I put the top back on to see how it looks. Going to try to design the top screens today.
