Fabricate?! I don't think that is very cost-effective ATM for me. I just spent my last check ordering a 2-way Viper alarm to protect all this precious equipment. 1 mile range! I think it should cover most of the school. But this all should be done before school starts back up next year. I'm supposed to be doing my semester final review for networking, but I'm on MP3Car.com, Twitter and Pandora...

Got my alarm in today, but also ran through a barbed wire fence. Took a curve a little too fast and lost control. I, my friend(I was taking him home because buses didn't run today), and the Turtle are OK. The Turtle sustained major scratches to the front passenger side and a bent wiper blade, all of which can be fixed. I need a new paintjob anyway(not the safest way, but it works I guess... ). Mom freaked, but now I know, they don't call it "Dead Man's Curve" for nothing... The fence was already FUBAR, so the people didn't care.

OMG, its funny you say that. Over here in Miami I was driving home. There was a nice new Civic in front of me and a Turtle in the back. The Civic braked hard, I braked hard and BAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMM. Pulled over to the side. Checked my truck, a few scratches. Looked at the Turtle, it was totaled. Basically while I was avoiding the Civic, the driver of the turtle wasn't avoiding me. It looked like a tank hit it. The lady that was driving was so p!$$ed but also scared. So I started asking her if she was OK, she said yes but that she was so f$%king p!$$ed off (she had a potty mouth like me). She then told me it wasn't her car and that she didn't know what to do. I told her she could go because I just felt bad. I was thinking in my head though, d@mn I knew I went to SUVs for a reason. I also started to think though, what if I would have had a newer SUV, would it have held up as well? Alot of cars seem to be so called safer, but fall apart when hit. Yea the passengers are OK, but the car isn't. I remember when a car and passengers use to be able to survive. I use to have a Dodge Shadow and I hit a car going 100 mph, the brake booster had failed, the Dodge Intrepid I hit was ok with 1 scratch. My bumper was pushed in but I took a crowbar to it and it popped right back into place (cars use to have shock absorbers in the bumpers, notice newer cars don't have them) I guess car dealers want you to have to buy a new car. Anyways, she also smashed my rear cam that was already acting up (it filled with water). I just didn't care about the bumper especially since its going to be replaced with the SP360 rear bumper and side skirts.

Anyways, glad your ok.

*applause* That bad? S*!t, now I don't feel safe at all in my Turtle... *hides in moms Yukon* Now I feel a little bit safer. But ya, I didn't think I would ever do something that stupid. But I did. At least the scratches aren't that deep and I didn't get a flat. And no one saw, THANK GOD in Heaven Above! The last thing I need now is another run-in with the police. I get pulled over enough as it is cause my aternator belt squeals. Nothing I can do about it. It's a new belt and it's tight as it needs to be. But I need to get some rest now. I have testing tomorrow. Night all!

They pull you over if your car squeals? HAHAHAHAHAHA, OMG, thats funny. Well maybe you have the belt too tight. It could also be the pully. Spraying a small amount of WD-40 should fix that.

On my first car (little Mercury Tracer) I had the muffler fall off more than once, finally it fell off and I lost it. That car was NOISY, but I never got pulled over for it. The police in your area must just hate you!

But like you said, at least it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Oh, No, Mr. Bill! Don't use WD-40! That's a lubricant, as well as a water-displacer. You want friction, not slip. Auto parts stores and auto parts departments can sell you a small can of Belt Dressing spray specifically for this; it will produce a friction surface, rather than a lubricated one.

Check and see if the pulley isn't installed improperly -- if the alternator was replaced and the wrong pulley or a mispositioned pulley was installed, you'll get that squealing. Realign the pulleys, and it should go away.

Other possibilities are that the alternator itself is misaligned, or that the pulley bearing is preparing to die.

They also pull people over for peeling out. The squeal is a...I forget what they called it, something like disturbing the peace, but in this town you can almost forget the meaning of the word.

They have reasons to. When I first started driving, I doubled the speed limit coming home from school one day, and I got pulled over and... ya. Now they don't really like me...

It wouldn't surprise me if the alternator is misaligned, considering the people I bought it from... That was mean. But it seems that something is wrong with it. I just need a bunch of time(and patience) to look at everything and see what I need to do, and do it all. I even found out yesterday that my front main seal is cracked or something, cause it leaks oil, let me tell you. But as long as I keep a watch on the oil level, I should be fine until I can get it fixed. I gotta get to school. [/ramble] Later all.

As a result of the accident and previous necessity, (my car literally looks like friggin' Christmas, green and red where the paint has chipped.) I want to paint my car. Out of this chart, what color should I go with: Blue Metallic, or Light Blue Metallic?

Your moving in all the wrong directions. I would address the engine issues first. No point in having a nice painted car, if you cant drive it at all. The main seal is so important, so is the alternator alignment. Fix the engine, then move forward. I like sky blues, but only as accent colors. I think Super Red will look hot. How many doors is your car? I know a kid that works next to me, he has a Tercel also, but with rims, spoiler, exhaust. Looks cute, but he has neglected the paint and must not have been wearing his seat belt because his wind shield is cracked, looks like a head hit it. I'll ask if I can take pictures to give you ideas.

It was originally Super Red, 2-door model. Engine/alternator issue(s) addressed soon. I need to find someone that can do them locally.

My dad got laid off and moved back here. He is now literally 3 minutes away from my house. He said he can fix my engine and all my Turtle's little idiosyncrasies. I'll trade my Turtle out with his Chevy pickup so I can get to and from my summer college prep classes. That means, in return for me searching online for him a job and a place to live(other than a trailer park as it is now), he fixes my car! My last two tests are tomorrow, and then Friday is report cards, I'm out a week and summer classes start. I'm ready!! BRING IT ON!

Tell your Dad I said Welcome Home -- both meanings.

As for you -- welcome to summer!
