I did not paint over the Super Red. The first owners did not like the Super Red, they said it was ugly so they had it painted over with its current color, BMW Green. Most of the details, like the trunk, are still the Super Red. (Why am I capitalizing Super Red? LOL)

) that it's gonna be about $1000 to fix the front seal, replace the timing belt, water pump, seal, and oil pan, I think he said. Alarm install will probably be Saturday, and engine to almost immediately follow.

Yea to change a major seal like that takes alot of time. You have to take alot of the engine apart. Timing belt, and oil pan should be no biggie. The water pump maybe, depending on how it sits in the engine, most imports arent hard. Cant wait to see pix.

There may not be pix if I have to put it in the shop rather than doing it myself or dad doing it. But Saul came to the rescue, yet again, with a source of the same paint for half the price! I found a kit with all of the parts I need for the repair: the timing belt, the timing belt tensioner pulleys, the A/C belt, alternator belt, timing belt tensioner spring, valve cover gasket with grommets, and front cam/crank seals for $150 shipped. I also found the oil pan gaskets and rear main seal for $40 on eBay. That's all the stuff the mechanic estimated to cost around $700, for around $200. That ain't bad. And there definitely won't be pix cause I have summer classes and dad has gotten really shaky and doesn't trust himself to do it. So there's about $400 in labor, but it needs to be done...

So many posts and projects, so little time...

Sorry... had to say that before this. I was just talking to Saul about 10 minutes ago(forgot to mention in last post), and he suggested that since we have been having so many problems fitting the CarPC under my seat, to use the space that the glove box occupies for it. What do you all think?

Here is what the interior looks like.

Although the glove box looks big, it may not be big enough. What do your rear seats look like? Ever thought of making a center console for the rear?

EDIT, never mind, doesn't look like there is a center console in the front, so it would look awkward. Take pictures of you entire interior, maybe you can do something like I am and putting the computer behind a body panel. Take pictures of the rear panels next to the passenger seats. Maybe the PC can be hidden behind one.

That is the 98 interior, but I am sure yours is the same. See the area I high lighted, maybe the PC will fit behind there. Only thing is, you will have to get the PC running 100% and do everything on point. Otherwise you will have to take apart the panel all the time.

That panel is a PITA to take apart, not to mention, the case would be right against the exposed metal, meaning every bit of heat will transfer to the PC. But some kind of material could be put in there to take care of that. I'll take it apart later check it out and take some pix. I was stupid today. I skipped the last half of the last day of school(we were just playing cards in the commons area) to go swimming at a friends. We managed to give her little brother a concussion cause he wanted us to throw him in, but he's OK now. I, on the other hand, didn't drink enough water(like an idiot) and am now dehydrated and sunburnt.

The panel is a PITA, but if you get the PC running 100%, you will never have to take the panel off in the first place. Maybe make a slide in type case, just loose the cup holders. I doubt anyone uses them. Also all you have to do is add heat padding to absorb the heat. My truck has it in major areas with alot of electrical wire. Seems to work great.

All of my parts for the engine repair should be here by the end of the week. Then while I'm doing my classes at ENMU-R, the Turtle will be in the shop. I'll be driving Dad's rust bucket '88 Chevy 1500. Thankfully, it will only be driven to and from the high school and my house so the chance of me being seen in it will be slim. Then comes finishing the CarPC and then paint!

Altogether, in its present state, it is triple-DIN. The radio took one, the tray took one, and the cigarette lighter/ashtray assembly took the last. Now my HU takes the one that the ashtray took, and the Lilliput takes the top two. IDK how deep they are, but I can measure tomorrow when I go rip the side panel apart. (Not really rip, but you know what I mean...)

I think you will have no issue with that panel. Check the panel, it may already have the padding in there.

Maybe someone can help me here. I have CF installed, but when I try to use the phone part, I get "error enabling phone". Outside of CF, the custom BlueSoleil software works fine, but CF isn't playing nice for some reason. I'm gonna see if I can't get a system report and find out WTF is going on.

I honestly wouldnt play with that BT stack. The new CF uses a different stack, also has the delay issue fixed. It wont be out till about mid summer or end of summer. With the delay issue the phone feature is useless.
