It finished downloading at about 7pm Mountain time, but it seeded until now, cause I just got home. I started the process, but I had to stop it because my moms pc is the only pc in the house set up for BitTorrent, and also the only one with a CD burner(She wanted to play Solitare). Sad, isn't it? I had planned on a reinstall tonight, but I don't think that's gonna happen until either tomorrow morning before school, or tomorrow afternoon, after school... School is my biggest obstacle ATM.

I got a case from rdholtz, it came in yesterday. It looks awesome! As soon as I get out of church, I plan on getting everything installed temporarily(until my DC/DC PSU comes in). Slipstreaming broke my genuine copy of XP's validation, so I'm getting ready to try to fix that.

I've never had luck slipstreaming sp3 into a pre-sp3 iso. I ended up downloading the image from MSDN.

My DC/DC PSU came in yesterday, but I wasn't home to sign for it. So, at lunch, I'm going to the post office to pick it up. Maybe I can install it while I'm "at lunch". I might be a little late to 5th though... I need to work something out about the case(thanks RDHoltz!) because it just barely doesn't fit. *calls Saul* He said he might help me with it when he gets off of work. Maybe I can get it all finished by tonight!

OMG, you dont seem to have any luck with your install. I remember my first install though, i didnt have much luck either. how dis you break your validation, like what do you mean? i do know when i went to activate after nLiting my install, i had to call microsoft to revalidate my key. wasnt a big deal though, i just hope i dont have to do it when i replace the HDD. Include pictures, i want to see how its turning out.

After I nLited my install with SP3 and some extra software bundled into the install, my copy wouldn't pass WGA Validation. I traced it to a bad install of the WGA Validation software. I Add/Remove Programs and removed the update for WGA and re-installed it. I can add pictures when I got home from school. I can't get to Flickr from here...

I can haz pix?

I have pix!!

First, the PSU I mentioned in post #97. I went and got it during my lunch at school. I wasn't late to 5th period either! I apologize in advance for the low-res iPhone pix, I lost my Kodak somewhere in my room

It came boxed up with lots of tape, (came from China...) and the PSU was thoroughly wrapped in bubble wrap.

It's made about the same as the picoPSU line is, but it sits at a right angle, where, (I think) the picoPSU is straight up. (Somebody correct me if my info is FUBAR)

All the wires are soldered directly to the bottom of the board.

The 12VDC + and - cables

It has a P4 power connector(good, because the Atom board needs it ) Sorry, it's kinda blurry...

It has 2 Molex(HDD) power connectors, and 1 Berg(FDD) power connector.

The whole unit in one shot.

I'm off to get this thing installed. I'll finish the posting in about 30 minutes.

It didn't work!! The fan on the processor on my board would spin for a second, then would quit. I hooked my AC PSU up, and it worked fine. WTF could the problem be?

My bad, I forgot that I was looking at this on a PPC which leaves out pictures. My bad, lol..... The case is so cute, very nice and small and looks like it has perfect ventilation. Why not hookup the fans to direct power. The way my setup works is that I have a relay on the 12v line, when the PC turns on, it trips the relay and tuns on everything including the fans, all 8 of them. This also includes the processor fan. I did this because I wanted the fans to run at full speed all the time. I had major temp issues because the MoBo was trying to control the speed, but my design tricks the sensors into thinking its freezing when in certain places, like the GPU, its actually overheating.

I did a little reading, the 200W claim is *****. This PSU doesn't regulate the 12v rail or the 5V rail. I pretty much just threw $40 down the toilet...

OH WOW, that is very dangerous for the PC. I would get yourself a M2-ATX, or maybe even a OPUS 150... I use nothing but OPUS and think they are awesome, I use 2 of their PSUs. The OPUS 150 goes for about $124.00, not sure how much the M2-ATX goes for.

I ordered a PicoPSU-150-XT 150W 12V DC/DC PSU. It shipped out today. I should have it by next week.

Why a pico? Why do you keep buying these inferior PSUs when an M2-ATX will only set you back about $75? Stop burning money dork.

You do realize that the pico you ordered needs a regulated 12v to work properly right? It won't run off of raw automotive 12v output...
That's probably the same problem with the PW-200-M 200W you ordered. It also requires a regulated 12v input.

So now you've burned about $100.

OUCH, he is right...... I was gonna recommend a 12 regulator, but it requires 13.5 volts to properly regulate to 12V. Once you get this PSU, don't even open the box and send it back and get a refund.

Remember a few posts up, I said do very careful research and don't rush your install. If you do so you will burn more money and have a unstable system. If you want me to spit out number, I burned almost $2,000.00 dollars on cr@p for my first install that went no where. It constantly crashed didn't work 60% of the time, and didn't do what I wanted it to do. I then took a step back and outlined what I want the system to do, and now I have the system that I have.... Mind you on occasion I still impulse buy cr@p that wont work.... You gotta have will power, or when you end up showing the system and it crashes, you'll look stupid. I learned the hard way. My mom popped in a DVD (Transformers), it played 5 minutes then a blue screen of death. My mom is very blunt like I am, and she said, you wasted 2,000.00 on this piece of sh!+, I cant even watch a f*c%in DVD.

Slow down, please really slow down. Your car, nor the PC are going anywhere. Look at my install, its almost 2 years and I still havent finished because I learn to slow down.... Mind you its grown out of control, but its all stable.

Too bad, the seller doesn't do refunds, just exchanges.
I just keep screwing myself over, don't I?

What about the M3-pico? http://store.mo-co-so.com/index.php?...products_id=94

I need small, but functional.
