Sitting inside the storage bin to display scale. It can't be mounted as displayed because there is not enough clearance for the drive door to open. It will hit the ledge on the bottom of the storage bin.
The idea is to be able to close the storage bin door. I will not be using this drive on a daily basis (mainly for software installation).
I will probably use a combination of the styrofoam (
which I would paint black) that came with the packaging (see pic below) and industrial velcro to mount it in the bin. It does not have to be a dramatic experience to mount this. The space is already confined, minimizing movement. I also want to eventually add a media card reader in the bin which would probably be mounted above of the drive.

I would have to drill a hole on the back of the bin for the USB cable.
