Is that red? It looks almost like a Maroon type red. I love the Fiero you pictured. That Fiero looks nice. The early models look ugly, you got the nice one.

Well Robbert (My brother in law) and I just got the car here this afternoon. It was a pain getting it under my car port with the tow truck! We couldn't raise the flat bed as high as we wanted or it was going to hit the roof. He also couldn't back in to far because of the light bar on the tow truck would also have hit the roof. Both the tires on the right are flat, so pushing it would have been impossible. Luckily Robbert had a trick up his sleeve. He got the car off the flatbed, then used the lower bar on the truck to lift the front and hydraulically push it back into place
Now the actual work begins.....

I haven't even had a chance to take pictures yet There is not much to look at, even I am thinking I am crazy at this point, as it is in BAD shape hahah! I feel like a true redneck with this thing parked in the driveway! LOL
I am thinking on getting some white primer spray cans, just to cover up the gray for now, and make it at least one color, so it doesn't look quite so bad to the neighbors! haha!
I will get some pics today, and put a couple in here.

Ok, I have a mechanic coming over Monday afternoon to check it out. It is having a fuel problem. It will run when I spray starter fluid into the intake, but not on its own. Could be a plugged line, fuel filter, fuel pump relay or the fuel pump itself.
In the mean time, I have started to tinker with the interior. I am changing the interior to Red and Black, and getting rid of the dreadful gray
Here is what the door looked like a couple days ago (Notice the settering wheel cover from my old Eclipse. That was the motivation for the color change
Here it is done in red and black leather:
The back firewall cover had this nasty fuzzy carpet all over it.
I decided to cover that in leather as well:
Here you can see the seat is pretty well shot ) The passenger seat was actually worse!) :
So I decided to cover them in Red & Black leather as well:
Now I need to order the new charcoal carpeting when I get a little more cash. I have decided not to dump all my money into this project at once, but to take it a little bit at a time.
It's a major start at least.... with a LONG ways to go.

The nice part about having the seat and the steering wheel done is that now you can sit in the car, put your hands on the wheel, and have the real physical sense of it for your driving fantasies.
The seat looks terrific. Did you do the upholstery work yourself?

fiero's definately have a LOT of potential to "become" other cars with a few body kit parts here n there.... it really is a pain they conjested the engine compartment so badly ~_~ hope you dont plan on doing any major engine/transmission work in the driveway
im interrested in what the final dash is going to look like... i know ive pondered many times about getting a fiero and doing some custom work to it... then i found a delorian... and then.... and then... hehehe
GL on your build!!! MORE PICTURES MORE PICTURES!!! ^_^
yeah--- if you did all that leather work yourself... why not be the first person with a leather clad fiero?? j/k -- the leather treatments would suck horribly, maybe weather proof pleather heheh

Floating... I think you need to get to an eye doctor . Her feet are clearly visible standing in heels.
No, I can not take credit for the seat covers They were ordered from a well known person that does Fiero interior stuff " Mr. Mike"
I did do the door upper and lowers, and the leather firewall cover myself though!

John you have increased my depression levels 10 fold! . I had a fiero a few years ago and sold it to one of my customers, and have basically wanted to commit suicide ever since. I to this day regret selling that car. I absolutely loved that little car, and have not been able to find one in my state ever since. It was so nice to get 26+ miles to the gallon out of an American built car for once instead of the typical 15 hwy 12 city that you get out of even today's domestics. I had soooooo much fun driving the damn thing. The fiero was the last of the cool innovative cars and in my opinion the only truly successful small car produced by GM. The thing was basically a street legal go-cart. The fiero would be a hell of a car pc install candidate. Something wild and radical, and you have the opportunity! I absolutely wish you the best of luck building, restoring, and modding that car.
Dude I wish you much success with that one.

Is that the cars ECU right in the middle of the driver and passenger? What do you plan to put there?

Yea, they are a fun little car. If you are looking for one, check out Fiero.com. Its the pennock fiero forums. Just post a "Wanted to buy" and you may find someone in your area that has one up for sale. Too bad you are not local I will be selling the first one I bought here in a couple of days for $800. Its a 1985 Notch back, V6 with 120,000 miles. It runs good, and the interior is in good shape, but it does have an exhaust leak.
Yea, that is the car's computer. It is normally covered by the center console, that has a glove box in front of it. (See the above before picture). I am leaving it where it is, as the CarPC will be behind the passenger seat.

Interior Work...
Ok, its starting to come together.... I plan on replacing the carpeting, but in the mean time for $6 I bought some vinyl dye for cloth and plastic, and sprayed the carpeting! LOL. It actually works very very well, and rubbing on the carpet it does not seem to flake or come off in any way. I set the seat back inside just to get an overall of the color scheme.
This pic is of the original gray carpet, where I started to spray the vinyl dye:
This is after all the carpet was sprayed, with the seat dropped in to have a look:
