Its a great deal! The drivetrain is awesome! Do oil changes, etc, and it will keep on lasting. But my car gets like 12mpg in the city, and 14 on the highway The v8s are actually more efficient Check out www.clublexus.com

12 mpg!!?? Somethings got to be wrong there. My 97 SC300 gets 16.5 and thats kind of drop from what i was getting a couple months ago (18.3). Maybe my fuel filter needs changing, i havent changed that ever, i think.

You need to go to a mechanic.

Well, you've got a newer ECU. Plus, what's your driving style? If you drive like an 80yr old then you're obviously gonna get better gas mileage. Basically it takes a lot of gas to get this car moving, and that's the problem with city driving: a lot of stops

I don't feel like going to the guy after he painted my bumper the wrong color

Find a new mechanic.
A dedicated one, real mechanics don't do body work as well.

Well, its not just one mechanic. The guy's got like 4 or 5 of them. The car took a week to restore and paint. The actual quarter panel looks dead on perfect, but the bumper is deeply off color

I remember asking him why I get such bad gas mileage. He told me to clean the throttle body (which he did), and it made the car faster and all, but didn't seem to do anything to fuel economy. He said that the car is not goin to get the specified gas mileage, ever, because it is old.

no, probably not, but 12-14mpg for your car is way too low.

Not the way I drive it I like getting fast acceleration, and the car is heavy. I do agree that 12 is way too low though

I especially loose a LOT of gas when driving up my friend's hill. I have to be flooring the car to get up there. I've also started gate shifting because of that hill, and when the car is in first and I throw it into second, it goes till 6000rpm.

Don't really feel like taking any pics. The car is dirty and raped.
