what if you put the LCD in the cup holder? Then make some sort of bracket system so you can pull it out and swing it to the side. To make it real fancy you could hook up some motors so its automatic.
also why was the touchpad useless?

I think that idea would be ugly. I'm going for the stock look. So the LCD has to be mounted. I'll be working on that tomorrow, and hopefully painting everything with some other brand of paint.
Well, with the touchpad, I couldn't get the drivers working properly, and having 3 mouse devices would really suck (touchscreen, gyration which I'm getting, and the touchpad).

Hmm .. I get over 300 miles to a tank ... and I drive .. ummm .. briskly
I ordered the new version of the LinITX (actually the Dynamix model) and the size looks just about perfect. It has already shipped .. so I will know in a few days.
The newer model only has 3 buttons (instead of 5) and is a little narrower.

I hope it fits. I also thought the Xenarc would fit without problems, but looks like I was wrong. So, what car do you have exactly?

Is it comming from big008? or shatever that company's name was. Looking good so far, what did you decide to do with the mATX? is it going in your glove box? I was going to put mine in there but i was wrong by a half and inch Thought I could dremmel out some of the plastic behind the glove box and make the room but i took it all apart today and the heater core and microfilter box are in the way looks like mine is going in the trunk after all.

Big008 is gone. I filed a request with paypal ano ordered the part from directron.
You should see the size of my glovebox. There is practically no space to put a 8 1/2" x 11" peice of paper! I'm gonna need to remove the bottom of the glovebox and extend it downward.

Nope. Not at that stage yet. I'll be sticking it out waiting for the Opus 220w. But even before that I will need to order the actual Xenarc screen. Right now I only have a casing for it. I wish I had some pics of an open Xenarc case with the board already in it... would be good for figuring out how much space I have left.
I'll probably end up giving this project to my uncle who will finish off the dash and stuff
