The radio adapter you link in your page it's an error.
The code indicated for the 3 serie is right but the photo is of the BMW 5 adapter.
The code is of the normal head unit adapter that is one din height and has the hole asymmetric.

I think that beema (yeah I'm from Boston) was actually made to have a compumputer put in it. That factory CD change spot is PERFECT.

Oh crap really?
Well, it hasn't come yet so I can cancel it. I wonder what it would take to customize the 5 series one to fit the 3 series. Any thoughts?

Yeah I know... When I cracked it open, I didn't expect to see that much bracketing. I knew there would be some, but not all that! It really does seem like it was made for mounting a computer.

Got the HVAC part
Well, just got back from BMW. It took them 5 days to get my console replacement part (for moving the HVAC). Once I start that installation I'll add more photos and docs.

Ok, a little ****ed...
So I called Eagle day and it turns out they don't have what I wanted after all. Good thing they didn't ship it yet! Why would anyone want the LCD mounted off to the side like that? Answers would be very much welcome :-)

Back in business...
I learned from a guy I called from Bavarian Autosports that there are LOTS of 3rd party companies that make the adpater. I also learned that it MUST be offset because there simply isn't enough room in there for the radio otherwise.
Soooooooo....
I call around and it turns out you can get one from BEST BUY of all places. I am going to get mine from a place called Sound Advice which is close to me. I suppose I could check out best buy on the way..
THe great part... The BMW part is $34-$39 dollars. The after market part is $17-20. THe wife will be please hehe...
I think I'll have to mount something cool like a powermate knob in the extra area LOL.

Thanks to the poster who helped me out on this one!!!
