'00 accord p4 mobile
Well first off i'm sharing some pictures (please excuse the quality, they are from my cellphone) of my MDF computer case.
its got a zalman heatpipe harddrive cooler (basically just so I could mount it vertically and secure.
There is a marine vent on the top of the box, a little chrome to give it that bling

more pictures,
my car (pictures so bad i dont have to blur out the license plate )
and then some pictures of the LCD installed (which looks like all the other honda accords of similar years)
I want the LCD to be easily removable...trying to figure out the best way to mount it...so i have some ideas about building a shelf and mounting it on the pre-existing brackets for the headunit....look at the pictures hopefully you'll understand what I mean

Peoples the car looks good man. i like the idea of being able to take the screen off and then hide it back in the dash. You had any heat issues with that case made out of mdf?

yeah, the case is a heat coffin, but since the processor runs 80º F max out of the case, it doesnt surpass 100º in the case......at least so far. I dont think it will be a problem. Also I do plan on adding another fan to pump air into the case right below the vent on the lid.

thanks,
I have a couple questions for you guys out there.....would it be bad for my LCD if I used like a cabinate magnetic catch to help mount it. I know usually magnets dont mix well with electronics....so i figured i'd ask before i gave it a shot.

alright nevermind, I did a search on the forum and found everyone says the magnets should have no effect on my LCD.
With that said and done, I am trying to find the best way to secure it. I'm looking at cabinat catches....because remember, I want it easily removable.
anybody have any suggestions or opinions?
i'm looking at magnetic catches...whick might not be strong enough, and these

At least it will heat up the HD quicker in the winter

yeah, i need to add another fan blowing out hot air from my carpc... my Via M10K CPU temp sometimes hits 150F (78C) when using Map Monkey GPS or watching videos (which causes random PC lockups, not fun!). Is there anyone else here having this problem?

That case looks cool. Keep us posted on the LCD install. I like the idea of being able to snap it in and out.

What about me!? I built half the **** in that car, lol. and I'm the one who bought the "marine grade grille." I think the system would be alittle nicer if RoadRunner didnt lock up so much...lets install the system reset switch sometime.

And to clear some confusion, I dont own an Escalade, I just couldnt think of a name...

half the **** is a bit of a stretch of the truth.....you helped me mount the amp and make the bracket for the lilliput. BTW roadrunner only locks up cause I still have an early version and I still didnt enable mappoint, mapmokey freedrive or iguidance.... havent decided which one to go with yet. ill put the reset switch in real soon......stupid me bought "normally closed" momentary switches at radioshack
