Im planning to use a 7'' Touchscreen i bought off ebay quite cheap, im also bidding on the rest of my system... I want to get an EPIA, a dc-dc PS and i'm planning to use centrafuse, with a custom skin im already working on. My sound system is currently an Xplod HU and four alpine speakers... quite basic but powerful, specially with the bug's acoustics (the egg like shape gives excellent acoustics). I'm also planning to buy a wired fm modulator to plug the pc, because my current wireless transmitter (wich I use for my Creative zen with the HU) has awful quality...

Open for suggestions

System

Alright so now ive ordered an EPIA M10000 and a cubid 3677 case. Should arrive in a week or so. I guess ill take some ram from my desktop and use an old HD i have over there as i save money to buy the rest of it. This expensive hobby is really not suited for someone who's still on medschool...

Come on guys leave some feedback.

Talking

Well it's pretty much tha same thig from thos 70's bugs that were made in the US, but they did evolved a little, for example, the tail lights became larger. Also the front turnlights changed to the bumper. And i guess the exhaust system changed too. The point is that tha car barely changed a bit from the 1940's till 2004, (compared to other cars) and that is said to be it's doom.

Yes, they just stopped making them, i guess it was in 2004. They actually sent the last one to the VW wolfsburg museum in germany.

About the car, as you might know, it was originally designed by F. Porsche himself, features a rear-mouted air-cooled inline four-cilinder horizontal 46CV engine, with a maximum torque of 98Nm, four drum brakes, electronic ignition, carburated (no fuel injection), maximum speed of 127km/h (79mph). All this data is according to the user's manual, but my car is actually faster than that. Ive achieved 160 km/h (about 99.5mph), but it's really not a good idea to go that fast on this car. It had only heating (no A/C) but it was removed.

What ive done to the car is basically put a stereo (it had none from factory), add new bumpers (with fog lights as you can see in the pics), change the radio antenna default location, as now i use a rooftop; add a center console, change to xenon headlights (and foglights), change the car's color to dark blue; change my steering wheel, add pedal covers, change the exhaust system, add an alarm with power door locks, add a very very dark window tint, add a cigarette lighter (it didn't come with one!!), and add some seat covers because the original upholstery looked like crap after 16 years of daily usage.

I know the pics are crappy, but i took them at night (the flash makes it look worse than it really is) and in a hurry. Perhaps ill make a website (in spanish/mexish) about my ride... if i get enough time

Unhappy Update

So its been a while since i posted here. What has happened:

My shipment delayed due to some warehouse problems
Once it arrived to Mexico it delayed again in customs. Its been there for 5 days now...
In the middle of despair, I set up a laptop as some kind of "Beta" version of what it will be when it arrives (if it ever does).
I am too lazy to take pictures <-- That will be fixed soon as I will take pictures of the beta setup and post them.

Cheers

Here are some pics of my temporary install. TEMPORARY, using a lap instead of my computer... until the customs office releases my package.

Feedback welcome!

Question psu question...

Ok so now i've got my epia, my morex's psu was dead on arrival, and was sent to the manufacturer's place for replacement, however it has been there since yesterday and i havent heard anything about it. Ive got a 40gb laptop hdd, and now i have to get a dvd+cdrw combo.

And now ive got a question:

Should I get a carnetix regulator or a m2atx psu?

I would go for the m2, beacuse it has 160w of power, so i could plug my touchscreen to it as a regulator, and it's got startup control. Anyway i'm open to suggestions

I assume that it would only draw as much watts as needed, since its 12v and about 15amps, it would only draw as much amps as needed and therefore only as much watts as needed, right?

Oh yeah and the very late reply is because of school... Medschool isnt exactly a place with lots of spare time... I will post pics too, soon i hope...

Sorry i didn't get the diagonal thing.
and yes, i know my shifter's quite ugly...

I didn't build that console, but it really is quite easy to modify. It's just plywood covered with carpet anyway...
