In windows where can I modify for default external monitor?
Or different, Can I simulate the Key "FN" with external Keyboards?

What type of laptop is this? I know with my old dell, it would take a few seconds, then automatically switch to external.

I have been wondering how to do the same thing. I think for now I am going to use a simple script written with a program called autoit to do 4 steps:

1. It will detect when a programmed hotkey, for either multiscreen or single screen, is pressed.
2. Launch the executable that configures my display output, for me it is some Intel exe
3. Simulate what needs to be pressed to change the screen orientation
4. Close the display configuration window.

This is definitely not the cleanest way to do this but is probably one of the simplest.

It sure would be easier to find a way to set FN-F? to some keyboard hotkey.

Alright, redid everything, so...Here we go.

The computer, a glove box. I carpeted it because I DID have fans in the face, but they just sucked, so Instead of fiberglassing over them, I just carpeted it. It works.Name: puter closed.jpg

And Here it is open. I know, lots of cables everywhere, working on a case...

The monitor. I did fabricate that. And I also put in a USB port and an LED for the HDD, but Ive changed things so the LED light no longer works, Ill remove it eventually. And I threw in a thermomiter so I can see how hot the glove box is getting. I cut some holes into the AC vents, so It doesnt get too hot.

My HU, I didnt build that for the HU, I purchased that from a member here. Its awsome....THANKS AGAIN!Name: HU.jpg

When the HU is open, It does slightly interfere with the E brake, but not too bad, I just lift up the E brake a bit, then put it back, I lift it so little that the brakes dont even engage.

The power buttons. I just made the big one a few days ago, still sanding and I need a coat of clear coat on it. But thats the master kill switch. The small button on the right turns the puter on and off.

The dvd player is in the arm rest.

The amp box all cleaned up. Fans are connected to the master kill switch.

and I just finished the External HDD mount. Its not quite done, its still a bit flimsy, and the fans are not very powerful, we'll see if they are strong enough to cool it down a bit. And, I still need to clear coat it as well.

So, comments, suggestions? Im STILL not done, have another 10" sub to put in, and strengthen that external HDD mount. but overall, just about done. Also have a wireless adapter and GPS to put in. But Im happy with it so far.

strange place to put the HDD, I'd love to see what lessons you learned from the first sub box applied to the second. Keep it up!

Well I put it there for fast removal. It has all the music and movies and whatnot on there, So when I have new stuff, I just unplug it, take it in the house, and blammo, updated. Windows and all that jazz is on the 80GB HDD in the glove box. As for the Sub box, thats still awaiting funds. Damn babies are expensive, and its not even born yet! Supposedly they need clothes and stuff when they ARE borne.....who knew?

Alright, New Sub box built. Came out alot better than the first one did! And since I could no longer really get to the amp box and the spare tire, I did another mod. Lemme know what you think, I need to do a bit more work with the carpet and the hinges need some work too. But here it is.

YOu wouldnt happen to have a shot of the back of the glove box with the MB installed? I'm putting mine in the glove box and I'm interested in seeing how you did it.
