Take a look at my software installation and setup log here. I update this on my laptop everytime I charge something on my CarPC which is currently running on my desk. I update this thread every so often.

I live right off Exit 299 behind the Jack in the Box. Spent a few years at Fort Hood before that (not counting two in Iraq).

I picked up an ATI Radeon 9000 AGP video card that has 128Megs of memory and dual monitor capabilities (1 DVI & 1 VGA). I'm going to uninstall the drivers for the previous video card and then download the drivers for the new card directly from ATI. I'm also going to use a DVI to VGA adapter so I can hook up both screens to the new card.

We'll see how it goes.

New video card is installed. I also plugged in the right-angle AGP adapter so now the video card sits above the PCI slots. Unfortunately, it sits literally right on the PCI slots. This may cause a problem in the future. I think that I may get another adapter that makes it sit just a little bit higher. The current adapter sits at a height of .95"; think I'll get one that is 1.5" just to ensure some airflow between the videocard and PCI slots.

Last night I had both screens running at the same time. Unfortunately, whatever is shown one the primary screen is also seen on the secondary screen. So this means that if I've got a video going and switch over to the GPS, the GPS is shown on both screens. Hopefully I can figure out a way to keep the video or VISU showing on the secondary screen regardless of what is being shown on the primary screen.

Today I learned that my AC adapter that I've been using to run my SP-716 LCD has stopped working. I get to power indicator on the AC adapter and no voltage out. So testing for today is on hold until I can get to RadioShack or WalMart and get a new adapter. I've got tons of adapters around here. Maybe I can find a 12V adapter somewhere without having to spend more money on a new adapter.

I've been away from MP3Car for a little while now. Things have changed... I've moved from Temple to Austin. Got a new job. Just got a new car. Well, it's not really new... just new to me. I got a 2001 Ford Focus ZX3. I intend to take everything out of my Ford Taurus and put it in to the Focus.

Year's ago I stumbled on to a site that showed Chris' Focus and some of his tutorials. I was interested in his fiberglass work that he had done with his car. Flash forward a few years later, I now have the same exact car and will pretty much mirror his installation (just with newer and more up-to-date hardware). This was his end results:

Here are some pictures of my car. Sorry for the quality. They were taken with my camera phone. Better pictures will be taken (hopefully this weekend when I wash the car).

Rafster - I never said that I got rid of the Taurus... I still have it and will probably use both cars an equal amount of time. I like the fact of having two cars because if one goes down, needs to go in the shop, or just whatever, I've got another one. Renting gets to be expensive...

michaudtime - Hey... That is a rather nice hood that you have too... I wasn't tol what exactly is on this car. What's the name of the hood that you and I have?

This may be true, but why was it the best selling car for a few years in a row?

(I've got a taurus, and it's ok, but quality is just not all there...)

Oh, and sorry to bump old thread, I actually did a search of the pioneer GM-5000T to see other install pics... found this page.
